Atwood Hotwater tank problem

Hello
I have a 2006 T-2075 with a hotwater tank problem. I was sanitizing my water system today and was flushing out the HW tank and I noticed a wire hanging in the HW tank control area. It is an Atwood 6gal. Mod#GC6AA-10E. The wire is a brown wire that appears to go to the t-stat on/in the tank. The t-stat has 2 brown wires attached to it and 1 of the tabs broke(rotted) off of the t-stat. I used a jumper wire to clip onto the brown wire and onto the broken tab on the t-stat (as a temporary fix) because I am going camping on friday.
My questions to everyone are:
1-Will the temp. jumper hurt the HW tank (I am not bypassing the t-stat, just connecting the broken connector)?
2-Can the t-stat be replaced?
3- How hard is it to replace?
4-Where can it be purchased?

I would like to thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Thanks
Chris

1- Clipping the wire together should work temporarily

2- yes, you can replace it in less than 5 minutes

3- If you peel off the black foam that says ECO/T-STAT you will see the thermostat. Unplug the wires and turn the plastic washer until the slots line up with the metal tabs, pull it out, and reverse the procedure to install the new one. Don't get the t-stat and ECO mixed up. They look the same but they are a little different.

4- Most rv dealers should stock them, or you can order them online. They will come in a pack with the t-stat and ECO and a new foam cover. Should be $20-$25.
