Always something......
Hi Guys and Gals! We are cleaning the camper up for our trek South. Washing in and out and up and down. Found this crack in the vinyl above the rear door. Can we fix it? Or best to replace the whole piece??? Thanks!

Drill a small hole at the end of the crack that's just slightly larger than the crack itself. Then cover it all in silicone to prevent water from entering.
Replacing the whole piece would be a lot of work and you probably couldn't find this exact aluminum anymore.

Here is the pic posted for quick viewing
Gee the seen before crack in the siding above the door....
Jon's description is what has been done before. If you have some Dicro non leveling roof seal it can be used for the crack waterproofing.
Good luck
John

Thanks John also! Fred is a busy guy taking care of all the details before we leave. Fortunately, we know of a GREAT mobile RV repair company in Va Beach. Always great to know someone else can take care of any problems we can't deal with. Hopefully, this is the last for this trip.
We are missing the Meet and Greet again this year....may-be next year!!!

Unfortunately Janet,
It seems to be a pretty common problem on the coaches with the radius corner doors.
When I picked up my custom ordered '06 T-2499, I bet it was less than 6 months when "The Crack" appeared.

Great answer Jon, Make sure you use silicone caulk, This should be sealed asap you will end up with some major water damage not only that your looking at Carpenter ants getting in that crack I've delt with them buggers in a Sunliner slide in and it wasn't pretty
