I missed that. No the jumper did not work. So I decided to pull it all apart because I just like to tinker on things. It wouldn't even click like it was before. Everything volt tested right. But something just wasn't adding up. So that's when I pulled the board out and found my little crispy friend.
Ordered new board from that link you posted, thanks again!

We were at Maumee Bay SP and it was the first time we camped in the Sunline that it didn't rain. The weather was great -- sunny and 70-80 degrees when all the sites on the loop except ours and my brother's lost power. After 4 hours and a call to Edison, it was determined that it wasn't caused by an overload of air conditioners on the 30 amp service, but a snake in the loop's main power box!

I have a 2003 Solaris model T2553. Everything works, but it smells like wires burning when the heat or air conditioning is running. I think it is the thermostat. I tried the jumper wire and I did not smell it then. Just thought I would ask and pass this along so if anybody else has the same problem. If anybody has any other ideas, I am Welcome to suggestions.

This is not normal and something of a concern.

Does your AC unit by chance have a heat strip in it? Some model had that as an option. OR is the heat you are referring too or is it the Hydroflame gas furnace that when it runs smells line hot insulation?

The T stat it-self is low voltage, hot wire are not impossible, but not normal.

Were do you smell the hot wire scent the strongest? And how long after the AC or the Heat is running does it take to show up?

wires burning smell.

I found the problem. It was the main white wire on the power cord coming into the camper going into the converter. I think there is a possibility that someone may have wired up this camper for a house receptacle thinking that because the plug was big it should have 240 volts going to it. The G.F.C.I. outlets won't test anymore, they still let power come through though. Also the circuit board on the power converter looks smoked and the fan runs all the time. It is the original converter and I have read that they gave a lot of trouble. Also they discontinued them. So far the converter is still working, but only time will tell. I bought the camper used, so I don't expect it to be perfect. I bought a 87 Prower new in 1989, it had never been used but it had a lot of problems too. The first was the refrigerator froze everything. Then the water heater sprang a leak and ruined the carpet. New is not always better.

My camper now does not have a heat strip in the Air Conditioner. I doubt the cord would run one anyway. I did some calculations and if I run everything on electricity, it is overloaded by over 1500 watts at least. I think all campers should be required to have a 50 amp cord instead of a 30 amp.

It's not unusual for someone not familiar with RVs to mistake the 30 amp 120v RV plug for a 30amp 220 v dryer plug.

And you are correct it is very easy to overload the 30 amp service. I have found using the refrigerator and water heater on lp gas helps lower the load when the A/C is working hard.

There are excellant replacement convertors out there that are a lot better for the batteries and are not that hard to change out if you are slightly electric friendly.

power converter smoked up.

I have a power converter from another camper that I am going to put on it. I took Electrical Maintenance after high school, so I have no problem changing it.
