2499 Problems with siding/cracks

Hello !

After another trip this weekend we discovered two fairly large vertical cracks through the (metal) siding above the rear entry door. The cracks are on both side of the upper part of the door with a slight dent in the middle. The inside walls also have two very small cracks running vertical down the drywall tape. I am not sure if the 2 are related, however, the outside cracks are getting larger. A few area of concern; tires are wearing unevenly on the outer edge, the door will not close properly and the fender skirt is almost rubbing the tire. There has been no evidence of frame issues but I am concerned what could be causing this ? Any suggestions would be helpful. I do have the reese dual cam sway control always hooked up when in tow.

2006 Sunline 2499

Thanks

Nick

Have you checked the header on the frame to see if it is bowed or cracked? There were several of us with '06 2499's that had header issues.

The cracks over the door, usually drilling a small hole at the end of the crack will stop it from expanding. Make sure you caulk the hole.

Uneven tire wear, could be several causes, tires out of balance, axles out of alignment.

You might need to have a frame shop check out the frame.

I'm sure the guys will be along shortly and give you some other ideas.

Kitty
