I replace all the clearance lights with 3 inch round LEDs. I know there are some restorers out there cringing, but I'm more about function than historical accuracy. There are only 4 tiny bulbs in them, but they are 10x brighter than the old ones and best of all, I havent replaced a bulb or lost a cover in over a year!! Bad part is if I ever do, I'll have to replace the whole lamp assembly as the LED's are sealed in the covers with RTV silicone so they are completely weatherproof also. Good part is I was smart enough to buy an extra red and an extra amber just in case.

Well .... maybe if you replaced the lights with a big neon flashing sign ...
It sounds like putting in the LED lights was a wise choice. I don't think there is an " original" Sunline anywhere, everyone does some mods to make their unit "home" to them.

LED's last forever they'll prob outlast the camper, and all Led's are going to be 10x brighter. I like the round light Idea makes it look retro, real old campers had them factory not LED of course My questions now are can you see marks on the camper where the square lights use to be? and where did you get them at what cost?

SuperBrightLEDs.com - Around $7.00 each with the pigtail. Once the dirt was scrubbed off you couldn't see the outline anymore, but the screw holes were wider than the new lights, so they had to be filled. I used a ton of silicone sealant under each light after they were all wired and I made sure they were all working, to seal the holes where the wires pass thru the sheet metal. Then I filled the screw holes with JB Weld and when everything was settled and dry I gave the obvious spots a touch up with a beige house paint that matches the tan siding remarkably well. Is it perfect? Far from it, but unless you're up close, no one will ever notice.

I went to the super bright led website really cool lights, I'm confused a little, so you have to buy the base separate from the lights themselves ? I've never seen lights sold like that..Crazy

On some of the yes, you have to purchase the base/flange seperately. The MSM series that I bought had the base included. Some of them you can change the base from balck to chrome to brushed aluminum to match whatever you have, so they sell the base alone.
