12v Interior Lights

I think we have 1156 bulbs in our Sunny - a 1988 T-1350. The news is covered with stories about manufacturing stopping the first of the year for incandescent light bulbs.

My question is, does this also apply to automotive bulbs such as the 1156/2056 and 1157/2057?

I don't want to change my fixtures out, and I don't want to use the new replacements. If they are going away, I will stockpile a bunch of 'em like I have with our china cabinet lights.

(Please, I don't want to debate the pros/cons of CFLs, fluorescents, and LEDs as opposed to incandescents. I have my reasons for not wanting them. I already know the cost, the benefits, the drawbacks, the hazards, the politics, etc.)

Thanks,
-Dale

Dale...

As far as I've learned, this applies only to the standard household 60-75 watt bulbs so far.

I'm on your side, Jim.

Frank, that's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure.

I like the way you think, Janalee!

Tim, I would accept them if they are the same ones. I'll check this evening after work to make sure of what they are.

Thanks for your replies, guys.

I would be glad to take the 1156's or 1141's if that's what the camper bulbs are.

How come I winced a little buying LED's for the camper but totally cringe at paying about the same to replace the bulbs in the house with LED's?

I guess the savings on the battery usage in the camper is dramatic and is more of a priority and more tangible than seeing the monitary savings in the power bill in the house. We "stocked up" on incondenscent bulbs this past weekend but want LED's in the camper.

............but then I work for GE Energy where we sell turbines and generators and build power plants. Conserve energy, but not too much. I need a couple more years.
