With the camper plugged into shore power and converter charging the battery, put a tester across the battery terminals. Should read between 13-14 volts to charge battery. You may also have a bad battery if it doesn't hold a charge. I bought a brand new Exide from BJs that I had to return because it would discharge overnight.

I have one of these installed.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It includes a voltmeter. When the converter is charging the battery, the voltmeter reads 13.#. This is how I know when the converter is charging the battery. When the converter is not on and I am running on battery only, the voltmeter reads 12.#. I am not sure how accurate it is but it does help. For me, that is the only way I know. I am sure the more experienced members will have more.

Exclamation . Old Converter , less than 13 volts.

I would also comment a bad reading I got from a Sunline resale.. Over time the original converters stat to make loud noise. I thought the lady seller gave me a very old Battery, but it turned out to be only one year old..... Voltmeter on the charger terminals showed only NINE Volts, as a circuit board in the unit was partially bad.... New convertors can be bought , Camping world , Amazon etc....
My quick fix was to unhook the wire & charge with my typical Sears garage charger & squeeze clamps. . Needle meter on the front garage charger..
