Mystery 1999 Sunline Truck Camper

Does anyone also have a post 1994 Sunline camper? I understood they were discontinued in '94 but have a 1999 sitting in my drive and the VIN verifies it's a 1999 Sunline. "Sunline Fan" has been helping me and I have been exchanging emails and don't have answers yet.

If anyone has a 1999 I'd like to discuss what you've found out about it and any manuals you may have. Thanks

Harold, I have a '99 Sunline TT and some of the appliances may be the same. I have been meaning to scan them into pdf format and place them in the files section here on SOC anyway, so this will nudge me to get at it.

If you can give me a list of installed items with model numbers in the camper that you want manuals for, I can compare that with what I have and if there is a match, I'll scan away.

The "Sunline" portion of the TT manual is pretty generic and other than winterizing and care information, there is little or nothing that is Sunline specific. I can scan it if you like, but it will likely not provide you with many answers.

Thanks Steve,

I have tracked down the appliances. I am mainly looking for the base camper info. like wiring diagrams and specifications on weight and tank volumes. They covered the holding tanks in sheet metal so it isn't easy to measure the sizes without disassembly.

BTW, do you know how to add pictures to these posts?

Thanks for responding.

I don't think Sunline ever included wiring diagrams in their manuals. All lof these RV's are wired pretty much the same way so if you need help with a specific wiring or electric issue, just ask in the Repairs and Maintenance section or here in Truck Campers. Someone will be able to answer your questions.

Unless someone finds a factory spec sheet, I suspect that tank volumes will have to be measured the old fashioned way. Either measure how much it takes to fill a tank, or fill a tank and then measure as you drain it.

I don't know about weight ratings and such. Maybe it's best to weigh it as is on your truck, and then remove the camper and weigh the truck again. That will at least give you an approximate dry weight.

Are you trying to determine what you'll need in the way of a truck?

Jon,

The door pulls on the cabinets are not what is in my '99. Any thoughts?

The front logo is the same as my '99, but the rear one is alien to me.

Harold, is there a factory sticker with weights and vin number? That might help here.

They look like the one's I had in my '94's. I think they changed them in '95, and then again in '97. Who knows how they ended up in here.

The front logo I think is a replacement. The rear logo, as well as the striping, is from the '98 Advancer package, which is the predecessor to the SE package. In '98, it not only got you fiberglass sides, but it also got a custom set of decals, which very often deteriorated very quickly. I told Harold that his rear logo is very rare in that condition, and he got me a few pics of it. I think it's the best one I've ever seen of it. I suspect, though I may be wrong, that the front logo was originally one of the Advancer logos, but it deteriorated very quickly due to being on an angle in direct sun, so someone called and ordered up a new Sunline logo, and Sunline did their famous chop-chop to a Saturn or Solaris logo by cutting the bar out. I don't have one of the Advancer logos and I don't think they had any for a while, since the few they probably had were sold as replacements for that model.

I had Harold, as well as the previous owner, try to get me pics to see if there was a sticker. Harold sent me a series of high quality pics, and I don't see a sticker anywhere. That's why I sent him under the door sill.

Jon
