What is the last year a T-1950 was made?

I saw a 2007 model T-1950 advertised on-line at a dealer. I though they went out of business before that.

Sunline closed in November 2007.

Actually Sunline closed in early Nov. 2006. The camper models years changed early to mid year. So a 2007 camper model could be made in June of 2006. They would of been into 2008 models in Nov 2007 if they where still in production.

I remember the time well as I had a stove regulator warranty message into them on my T2499 and someone actually answered the email but the phones where already into the message to call your dealer for support.

I know there is a little RIP thing on the bottom of the forum that says 11-10-2007 but that must be the 1st year anniversary, not the actual closing date.

Thanks for pointing that out. I never put a year in originally, but the forum calendar only goes from 2007 to 2020 right now. The event is scheduled to repeat every November 10th, so it just showed all possible years.

Tht is helpful. So it is quite possible that the T-1950 I saw on line has tires that are at least 5 years old on it. Hmmmmm. Price seems really high for a 5 year old trailer.

It's possible that the tires are original. I wouldn't hold it against it though, consider it a blessing. You'll know if the originals wore evenly with no axle alignment issues then, and then you get the chance to put a decent set of tires on instead of some cheap trailer tire.

Not sure what the price is on the one you saw, but it's not at all unusual to see a 2006 or 2007 Sunline in the $15,000 range. It's important to watch out for the FEMA models though. Unlike the other normal FEMA trailers with the stereotype, there's nothing wrong with the Sunline ones, but they are much less appointed, and command a much lower price compared to the typical '06 Solaris model.

The tire issue is a good one to consider though, because the Mission tires aren't good and aren't reliable regardless of age.

You have to remember, a 2007 Sunline is quite special. It's not just some five year old trailer. They were built with better quality than most other brands and it's the newest possible model year available. That being said, a large majority of people buying 2007 models new went in knowing this since most bought around/after the closure, and they took darn good care of the things. So not only is it a good trailer, but most are well taken care of too.

Hi SunlineFan

Where did you come up with that high a price on an 07, T1950?

2007 Sunline SOLARIS Series M-1950 - 20' Standard Equipment, Prices & Specs - NADAguides

Granted they can charge most anything but $15K on a T1950? or are you talking 2007 in general?

I fully agree with the fact a used Sunline in good shape, even an 07 is still better then a lot of brand new campers out there. And after inspection of the TT I would have no reservations in buying one.

Was talking about 2007 in general. Size hasn't seemed to matter too much with 2007 asking prices though, even though a very clean 264SR will no doubt bring a little more than a comparable 1950. My '07 spreadsheet of VIN'd trailers has an average of $14,300ish for all of them listed in 2010 and 2011.

Grumbine's in Harrisburg has a 1950 there right now for over $15k. Some have sold for less, but the prices do seem to be staying higher out east.

Much as we like our SOB for the layout, slide and huge holding tanks, we do miss having a Sunline.

I had my eye on the T1950 at Grumbines in Harrisburg as I bought my first T1950 from them. But at $15,000, it was waaayyy over priced, so they lowered it to $11,000. THEN I went back to look around and saw that it was gone and asked a salesman there about it. He said they they wholesaled it. So no one would bite even at $11,000. I'd put a 2007 T1950 at around $9500 tops and would hope to get one for $8500.

I think people in PA still and will continue to hold the '07 Sunlines in high regard and think they are worth a lot of money. It isn't just Grumbine's, I've seen a lot of dealers keep the values up there.

It is crazy how dealers wholesale so many units before they even try to sell them cheaper. I guess they don't want it to get out that they'd sell cheaper, because then everyone would wait until they drop the price more and more.

You are right Jon. A salesman at our dealer once said "There will always be a market for used Sunlines around here." At least in eastern PA, people know how they were made and how they stood behind them We even took our cub scout troop on a tour of the factory! The field where they parked them before shipping them out STILL has rectangular shadows of less healthy grass where the trailers were parked all those years! Undoubtedly, if Sunline was still in business, our new trailer would have been a custom Sunline.

That's what I figured, but I just wanted to make sure...

On a side note, Stoltzfus West Chester doesn't seem to like them as much, or else they just don't like me.
