Washed the trailer today
I learned two things:
1. There's a LOT of surface area on a 30 foot trailer. My hands and shoulders are sore.
2. Rubber roofs are very slippery when covered in soapy water.

Ah yup. And a 32 footer is even 2 foot more.... The camper sits here in the yard next to the shed waiting to get a cleaning. When I get to it, the roof come first then the sides. The 1st spring wash is the worst...
By the time I get done with the camper, I look at the long bed truck and say, well, maybe tomorrow...
This is one advatage of the samller camper. Less sq feet to clean off.

Our little Sunline needs a good bath also. I don't think we'll go up on the roof though.

I chose to just drive through the entire state of North Carolina in a rain storm, and our 2499 looks as new as the day we drove her off the lot.
Only cost me two tanks of fuel...LOL

Not to worry. No damage to trailer or person, just a little to my pride. I did a split that was stopped by the radio antenna on one side and the AC on the other. Had to put my hands down to get out of it. I stepped very carefully after that.

What is everyone using to clean? My Sunnie is a 1990. We had to take one of the stripe off last year because it was peeling bad. I have taken it to a truck wash and washed it by hand with car wash, but still don't know if its that clean. Maybe it is the beige color and not as dirty as I think

I use Tide laundry soap on the rubber roof and I use Awesome and Mr Clean Magic eraser on the aluminum sides. This is the cheapest and most effective way to get the heavy grime off I have found so far form sitting over the winter. On times when I do not have so many black streaks, I use car wash soap, Blue Coral on the camper sides and only spot treat the black stuff.

John, Mule,
I feel your pain. Mine is 32 feet long X 12 feet high and makes for a long day. Doing the whole coach is a two man job if you want to do it all in one day. I usually bribe my little brother with some adult beverages for a helping hand. I have 2 telescoping brushes, and can walk on my roof which makes it a little easier, but it's still a chore. Also I've had very good luck with a cleaning agent called Exits which is made by PeenKleen. It removes black streaks easily in full strength, and makes a very good wash diluted. I also agree with John that the Magic Eraser works well. I use them on the trim to remove the mildew type substance. Awesome is the old standby for the 21 ft. awning. It'll soon be time, can't wait. Our favorite CG opens in Mid April.

RVer on RVNet posted a thread about using the truck washes which are usually located near a major interstate intersection along the highways.
They usually cost around $1 per foot and you'll be in and out in about 15 minutes with the entire truck and coach spotless, even the roof.
For the aggrivation it takes to do it yourself, I'd probably pay $2 a foot!

Pat:
That truck wash idea sounds excellent. I would wonder, though, that if they used a pressure washer, would water get behind the aluminum siding? I think you have the filon siding so that wouldn't be a problem.
Did Sunline put a waterproof membrane behind the aluminum siding or is the siding somehow sealed?

Folks.....
Some years back, we were headed for FL in February with the 2363 , and both the TV and TT became a salt & cinder ball from the PA, MD, and VA roads.
Stopped at one truck wash. Attendants said, "you don't want to do that.....the brushes will damage your awning!"
So....if one has awnings or slide awnings....caution might be in order.

I'm thinking the truck washing they were talking about is more the type with 4-5 guys with power washers that are on a elevated walkway
I've personally never seen one that you could drive through like the car ones.
That would rip off all sorts of things on our coach

Yes.......I was surprised to find that one had huge brushes on each side and across the top (no conveyor track, though). I'm not sure if they or the truck driver was supposed to move it through.
And I've been too cheap to consider paying today's rates, anyway (being a cheapskate is SUCH an inexpensive hobby).

A fellow at a campground last weekend recommended "Amazin" cleaner has anyone else tried it? We have a 195s and I was planning on using Simple Green or dish soap. I like the magic eraser tip for getting the mold like stains on around the trim. Also thanks for the tip on the mildew on the awning.
If it ever stops raining long enough here in NY I will get at it. I have to get it done before the next camping trip so I don't take anymore abuse about my dirty TT.
