Used T1661 - Questions, repairs?

Greetings all you camper friendly people,

I bought an old truck from my neighbor and it came free with a sunline '84 T1661 trailer. Basically what's this thing capable of?

It's in good condition, needs to have have water, plumbing and fridge fixed up, otherwise fine.

Curious how it works? Heating, power, etc...

If I were to say...go out to the woods, park it and live in it rent free a season or two.

How would I keep it powered up and warm/toasty? Also, thinking of doing some solar panels, would that help? Just trying to find out what I got here.

Any insight much appreciated.

PS. I'm a young guy. It seems like a lot out there RVing are elderly, but no more! I named the camper Ol' Bessie.

First, Welcome to the group & Sunline ownership

WOW you got a Sunline for free. Your Sunline can be a great little trailer for one person.

Heating, power, etc... The heat is powered by propane & battery or AC. You have a thermostat on the wall, just like in a house. Your "AC/110" power is obtained by pulling the heavy black cord out of the little door on the driverside (streetside) of the trailer. Should be a black cord with a "3" prong plug on it. You plug into a 30 amp receptacle, if you don't have a 30amp available you can get an adapter and plug into a 20 amp, BUT you can't run an Air Conditioner on 20amp.

If I were to say...go out to the woods, park it and live in it rent free a season or two.
There is more to doing this than just going in the woods, parking it and living in it. You need power source, water supply & sewer disposal. I'm sure some of the guys can explain it better than I can.

If you provide us with more info about what you want to do, what you need and some background about what you can do about fixing/maintaining the rig we can help you better.

OH Yeah, do we just call you "Ol Bessie ? "

Kitty
