Update on the tt hitch

As we stated before, when we picked up our tt from the dealer he installed a 600# 6000# gvw wd hitch with sway bars. I called them on Monday and talked with the service manager and she agreed to swap the hitch out with a 1000# tongue 10,000# gvwr hitch. I said that I would really want the 1200# tongue 12,000# gvwr hitch. We went back and forth until I gave in and asked what the price difference between the two is. $25 was the difference so I paid and boy what a difference the hitch makes. Before it was all over the road now no issues.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone that pointed us newbie’s in the correct direction. Even after reading all the RV books for dummies we still did not get it right.

Thanks again for everything.

Our first trip is this weekend. Hope all is well.

JohnB is on a distinguished road
I saw your other post and other folks helped you out as I made it here late. We have a good group here.

Your dealer gave you 600# WD bars on a T2499.??? Even the dry catalog weight is like 765# ish.

And they where dickering with you about upgrading???

I personally would not use that dealer for hitch work.

Good luck on your new camper, and let us know if you need any help.

John
