trailer marker lights

Hey all,
Good news! I finally got our new to us 1986 Satellite 2460 home today!! I found a big bonus inside a manual folder with a bunch of paper work!!! This will definitely give you guys a break from all the dumb newbie questions.

But..As I was towing her home I noticed the marker lights on the top front and back were not working. Some of the side markers worked but not all? I did not see a wiring diagram for the trailer lights in the folder so I wondered where I should start first? Bulb looked good on one of the side marker lights but did not check all yet.
Thanks
John

1. Check the bulbs first.

2. Then the socket, corrosion may be there preventing the bulb from working

3. Use a meter and check if you have 12 volts. Go to some other ground. This will tell you if the hot wire is working.

4. Check the ground wire in the socket. They may be tied together on a DC common and that common is not grounding well on the frame.

Good luck

John

I have a 1981 and my problem with some of the lights was corrosion that created a bad ground, I unscrewed the ground, cleaned with sandpaper put on some dielectric grease and screwed back in, it works fine now.

If you do have to replace any, I move up to the LED variety as they'll last laonger than the life of the camper, and are much brighter.

Cool beans about the manual being left in the coach
