T-1550
Picked up our poor little neglected t-1550 yesterday. No problems towing her home but had to remove 4 bags of trash and canned goods straight away, yuk.
I threw out all the curtains and the cushions need replacing, they are the original 30 year old ones, and again, yuk . The plan is a complete repaint, inside and out, there is no way around it. The previous owners said they never used the fridge, didn't think it worked but said they did hear it click on when the electric was running? There was no sign of ammonia leakage when we looked at the back, but it didn't look like anyone had ever done any fridge maintenance EVER. We have our fingers tightly crossed that we can get the fridge going.
We have all the parts to the awning but it was ripped off in a storm. The remaining awning is still hanging from the channel but only about an inch was ripped off the entire way along, can the piece that slides through that channel be replaced?
Oh and it looks like we need to rehab or replace the door, any thoughts?
we also need to replace the LP tank connector nozzle
currently working;
Stove
gas lines
water lines
electric , except tow lights

Looks nasty inside! I'd go pull out those curtains and cushions though, you can use them for patterns. The original fabric actually cleans up quite well I think, but to each their own.
Looks like you've got an original hubcap there as well!

All of the fabric had become quite brittle and the curtains were stuck to the window frames. I think I may be able to salvage the foam though , which is a huge plus. Im definitely not going for a 'Glamping' rehab of the sun liner, just clean and functional.

Good Luck in the clean up! I recognize the wallpaper and fabric, lol Mine ('85 2101) is also original however, mine is in pretty good shape (thank goodness) only replaced part of the floor and the hot water heater. Cant wait to use it this summer!

We finally had time over the Holiday weekend to start work on the T1550 in earnest. After a really good assessment of how worn out most of the interior was we decided that a repaint was the only way to go. Some wood panels had to be complete replaced and there were so many stains and worn spots that there was no choice.

Looking good! Freshened it right up. I'm thinking of doing some painting in mine as well. Hoping to lighten it up inside. I see you are also from RI. Any favorite campgrounds?

I've got the same model. I had to rebuild the rear wall and about a 2 feet of the rear sides because of water damage after I got mine home. Check all your windows to catch leaks between the frame and the exterior early. I can't wait to see how your repaint looks when your finished. I've bee considering a complete repaint of my interior too. Did you spray, brush or roll?

Oh, and I've got to do something about my door too. I've had it off and replaced some of the wood inside but I think I'm going to pull it off again and do a complete rebuild. I'll try to document the process and post it on here for others. Good luck with yours and let us know what you decide to do.

More photos!!!
So close to being done. The exterior is getting a fresh coat of paint too, everything is peeling and all the lovely oranges and sunline stickers are gone.

Ok so no, the fridge isn't working. We will figure it out later in the summer and use a cooler for now. Here are a few more update photos, the exterior has primer, the floor is in and the kitchen is finished.

Looks great and the floor is nice, too. I hope you can get the gas refrigerator repaired. It's not too hard to remove the entire coil assembly and ship if off for a rebuild.
