Sunline Identification Help Needed

Hey all,

Like I've said before, the main reason we looked at Sunline was because Sue's Grandparents had Sunlines while she was a baby camper. She did not remember (probably cause she didn't care) what model they had. To make a short story long, she found pictures of the second TT they had. (the first was a 12 or 13 footer) and she would like to know if anyone could help ID the thing so we can start looking for one to refurbish. I do know he special ordered the TT from Sunline, Her uncle went to the factory with him. He remembers that he spent extra money for the rear stone guard. This was important to him for some reason. Anyway, Sue's dream is to get the Sunline and an old IH Scout to pull it. Guess who gets to do the work!!!??? Anyway, here are some of the pictures she found. I do have a couple of the inside if needed but they do not show much. Let me know if I need to scan them in. Thanks a million.................Marshall & Sue.

Hi Marshall,

It's a 1982 15 1/2 SB. I've got pics for five different 15.5 SB's. I'd be glad to e-mail you all of them if you'd like. Since you have pics of the interior, e-mail them to me. I'll try to match them up with what I have to determine the interior color.

Does Sue have any idea what happened to it? If you can track down any owners/dealers since, they might be able to help. Also, go let Lee know what you're looking for. I'm sure he'll keep his eye out.

Here's one of the ones I have- it was already on photobucket:

I'm gonna take a guess that's its a T-1550, front dinette, door side sink & stove, rear goucho couch. Fridge on street side right in front of goucho, then the "wet" bath and your right back up to the dinette. My best friend had a 1982, sold it to his sister, I can get pics of it if needed.

One interesting thing I just noticed. Besides the rock guard upgrade, it seems like it was custom ordered without a water heater. That would have been in the left rear, and it isn't there.

Jon & Kitty,
Thanks for such quick responses. You know this is going to cost me money don't you??!!! I do know where it went. It was sold in 1985 after her Grandpa passed. It was sold to a relative. It developed a leak in the front shortly after and rotted. I don't think it was taken care of. Anyway, I heard it was trashed. Sad but true.
Kitty, I swear you were holding the pictures of the inside as you described it. Everything you said matched perfectly. I was able to follow you through the TT with the pictures as I read you post.
As far as the water heater, Sue claims that this does not surprise her as her Grandpa probably would not have showered anyway. They usually camped at Col Denning State Park outside of Harrisburg which did not have water hook-ups anyway.
Well, now I know what to look for.............come on PA lottery!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Marshall

Is this what it looked like inside? I remember that the 1550 was a very popular floorplan back in the 80's when we bought our first Sunline. Does Sue want the exact year of her Grandfather's unit, or just the same model? About a year ago Schaeffer's had a VERY old 1550 WAY in the back of the lot. It had a leak in the back bathroom side corner. I don't see it on their website, but it might be worth a call to them. I have to say that we really DON'T spend all our free time wandering around the Schaeffer's lot We've really only been there maybe 4 times! They just seem to have what people here are asking for!
