Rubber Door / Hatch Moldings
Hello Everyone,
I am looking to replace the rubbber moldings around the doors and storage hatchs and can not seem to find it. All the dealers want to sell me the vinyl trim molding that is used to cover the screws on straight sections. But it is more ridgid than can be used to make the radius curves around the doors and hatches. The molding that I am looking for is white in color and 3/4in wide.
Thanks for looking,
Tom G.

Morning Tom,
Here is a link to the flexible vinyl trim. It comes in several colors.

Tom, even the flexible stuff can be a little resistant to making the turns at the radiused corners. That is when you borrow DW's hair dryer (with a solemn promise not to damage it in any way). Use the hair dryer to gently warm up the molding at the corners. It will make the bends much easier and stay in place once it cools. The only real issue is that you have to take extra precautions not to stretch the material when it is warm or it will shrink lengthwise.

Thanks Everyone,
Well I ended up at a nearby RV dealer and came home with a small bag of goodies. One item was 50' of molding material that I was hoping would work and by a stroke of luck it had (it was only $0.40/ft and the dealer had it in stock on a bulk roll so I rolled the dice on $20). Anyway, it is only 50 degrees in Spotsylvania today so it took a little coaxing but I think that it looks ok.
As soon as I can figure out how to upload picks I will included some before and after pics and also pictures of the material if anyone is interested.
Thanks
TOM G.

Hi Tom,
Glad to hear it'll work out. Some Sunlines had plastic insert trim around the doors, but then at some point, they changed to the flexible vinyl stuff I think when they went to the radius top doors. Hopefully the installation all goes well.
Jon

Ah, much better!!!
Now just take some Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and Awesome cleaner from the dollar store and the filon siding will look great too! Just don't let it dry on the decals- spray it off right away.
