Rim size
Was wondering about bolt pattern size for my 87 t1550. I currently run a st205 75 d14 tire. I need a spare rim/tire combo,so I looked on Etrailer and found that all of that size tire with rim are the same. 5 on 4 1/2 which I'm trying to decipher! Is 4 1/2 rim width...bolt distance or what? I'm not familiar with trailer wheel. Are they standard sized?

5 on 4 1/2 is what you should need.
5 on 4 1/2 means five (lug) holes on a 4.5" lug circle.
You probably will need a 14x5.5" wheel with that bolt circle, meaning 14" overall diamater by 5.5" wide. That's a common size mated to a ST205/75/R14 tire.
That's a pretty common size, so you should be able to find wheel and tire combo packages too, if that's what you're looking for.

No problem!
I should note, 1987 was the first year for this larger wheel and tire combo. 1986 and prior used a smaller and narrower 13" wheel. I'm not sure if the bolt pattern is the same for the 13".

If you decide to also buy a tire carrier and tire cover, I recommend mounting the tire carrier to one side, preferably the right so it doesn't cover the license plate. Many people mount them in the center, and the twisting action of the heavy spare tire tortures the weld joints and metal on the bumper, sometimes to the point of failure. Putting it to one side, as close as you can to the mount points without blocking the taillight, greatly reduces the torque on the bumper.
