Refrigerator

We're getting ready for our first overnight in our T1950. It's taken about a month to get used to where everything is and how everything works.

Only question we seem to have right now, is how long should the refrig take to cool done to be able to use it. We plugged everything in this morning for about 3 hours, and it finally started to cool down. I could hear a fan or something running. Is this normal?

Headed off to a local SP this week for a trial run. Getting very excited!

RV fridges take longer to get cool than your home one. I usually turn mine on a day before I want to load it for a trip.

We have a 2005 T 1950 and we plug our Fridge in a day before and it takes it about 8 hours to get the Fridge down to 37 - 40 degrees. I use a little Acu Rite indoor/outdoor thermometer to keep tabs on the temp. We always chill the items at home before we put them in the RV Fridge. We never hear the Fridge run and that is why I put a little thermometer in it to make sure that it is working. Hope this helps.
Have a Great Time.

It's possible to hear the fluid running throught the refrigerator if it's real quiet. Sometimes people install a fan in the compartment behind the refrigerator to improve the efficiency of the process particularly in warm climates and these can be more easily heard. If their is one you should be able to see it behind the refrigerator's vent.

Wouldn't the "fan" sound they're hearing be the converter??? I can't explain the converter ( I'll leave that to you guys!), but it sounds like a fan and it would be on the floor to the left of the fridge.

Thanks to everyone for their quick replies. Nancy, you're right, we think it is the converter. Never had everything hooked up before, so never heard it.

Looks like we're heading out this Wed for 2 nights and then home for the long weekend and off the GA after that.

Will keep you posted.
