Puchasing 03 T2499 Common issues?

I am looking to purchase an 03 T2499 from a local dealer. Everything seems to work fine, even has the stickers still on the shower stall. But being older than my son, wanted to check with other owners if there is any common issues that I should be looking at/for with this brand/model.

So far the floors seem solid everywhere and there is no stains/sagging in the roof on the interior. Don't know if these were just well built or if they just took good care of it, or if there is some hidden area I don't know to check. Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Some of the newer 2499s had a problem with the trailer tongue bending when folks loaded up the front under bed storage compartment. I don't think it was a problem until right before Sunline went out of business (2006-7) when they lightened up the frame structure. But it's something to look at.

Hello, wanted to give you an update on the purchase. Today was the big pickup day and did the walkthrough. I noted the back door was catching on something and had to be yanked. In the end, I saw that there was water damage on the entire corner of the unit. Seems the damage made is sag about a 1/4 inch throwing the door out of square. Too bad as the unit was in great shape inside. So we had to pass on the sale.

Update #2. While in the area we tried a few other dealers. While at the last dealer, we were told that all the salesmen were at an RV show but one. We told him that we were looking to get an 03 Sunline from another dealer, but it did not work out. Funny thing, he said he just got in an 04 Sunline on trade just last night and the rest of the sales force did not know about it yet. Looking at it, an older couple had it and it seemed in awesome shape. I think it is a 2553? A front kitchen unit. Will let you know how this one works out. Seems like we are destined to get a Sunline, just hoping this is the one.....

I owned a 2553 at one time and loved everything about it except....the sofa is NOT full size..so if you are planning for an extra sleeping space, then go to a 2653! It has a full sofa AND a swivel chair.Owned two of those and they are really well outfitted. We spent several winters in Fl in ours. They have the same kitchen as the 2553.
