Project!

Well, lets start by saying this is my first TT ever.It was a bargain price, and now I know why! The water pump had not been run,let alone maintained in a number of years.I have resolved that .The furnace had issues,I resolved those .The hot water tank had a hole in it,Resolved The hot water heater would not light,Resolved The fridge works fine and cold on shore power, but not on propane. Not resolved 12 volt system had issues,Resolved Dollar amount so far in repairs,$35.00,not bad for a TT that is almost 30 years old! The awning is suprisingly in good condition, orange and white stripes and all.The interior,I had to apply 2 coats of Kilz on the ceiling, and then ask the boss(wife)what finish for the ceiling. All this was done within 1 week of bringing the TT home.Still, I have a huge punch list, just trying to figure out how to post pics, hopefully in a day or two.

For a starter about posting pics (And OH YEAH we really like to see pics) You need to have your pics hosted on a site like Webshots or Photobucket or some other. I use webshot, so most familiar with it, others use photobucket. Once you have some pics on one of those sites, (they are FREE by the way), someone here will get you posting pics.

WOW, Great work on your wonderful trailer in such a short time. Now for the fridge on propane, someone with better expertise will be along to help you out with that.

As for the finish on the ceiling, the lighter it is the larger and brighter your rig will appear.

Kitty

I agree with Kitty about the finish for the ceiling. A lighter color will make the camper's interior seem much larger & brighter. White would be my personal choice, with a satin finish. I think a satin finish (glossier) will be a bit more durable and easy to clean than a flat finish.

Kilz is great stuff. We used it in our bathroom remodel (house, not camper).

Fridge issue could be burner-related or gas valve related. Our popup's 3-way fridge worked on electric but not gas and we wound up having to replace the gas valve. Not cheap.

Good Luck in your restoration!

Older TT .. Looks familiar

Just now experiencing similar issues.. picked up a 1991 Star Ray for $1300..seemed reasonable.. Fridge not operable Hot Water heater not operable Furnace works..yeah. Definite floor rot in rear under couch bed and on the left an right rear sections behind wheel wells - that will be a project I'm sure. When I figure out the pix post procedure I'll have to post.. great looking interior on this older unit, cleaned up really nice. Interesting how this newer version looks so much like yours....

How about some pics of the inside of your rig?

We'll be at Loudon for the race in Sept. too. I'll have to see what section we're in. I made the reservations in December and I can't remember which lot we're in.

Sure am.I've been busy as of late, and I am going to winterize the TT this week at some point.
I'll try my best to get some pics of the inside of the rig before I pickle it for winter.
