Price check help needed.

Hi everyone. I was hoping for some input on a 2004 Sunline 2753 that a friend is selling. I know it is well maintained and clean, but i haven't inspected it yet. Tires are one year old.NADA low retail is 4760 and high retail is 5740. It will come with the WDH. Are these accurate real life values I can use to determine a good price? Internet pricing by private party and dealerships is all over the place.

Brett,

Welcome to the SOC, a great place to get your questions answered with a lot of nice people!

A year-and-a-half ago, we were also looking for a Sunline; we wanted a 2363. As you noted, we too found that the pricing from RV dealerships and private parties was "all over the place." We also consulted the NADA but ultimately ended up paying more than the high retail for our 2363. Someone here, possibly Sunline Fan, can explain a little bit of what's behind how NADA values trailers. IMO, their valuations do not seem to be based on how either dealerships or private owners price their RVs.

For us, it came down to two things: one was "condition"; and the other was what an SOC member described as "It's worth what you're willing to pay." Because we were newbies, we wanted to buy a trailer in very-good-to-excellent condition, i.e., well maintained, no leaks or soft spots, little wear on the inside and outside, all major systems working, etc. Condition - and the fact that we wanted a 2363 - then dictated "what we were willing to pay." The Sunline we bought was in excellent condition but we paid more for it than we planned and it's been worth every penny. While we wanted to get a good deal, in the end buying a good trailer was more important to us.

All that being said, if you can get an '04 2753 that is in very good condition - especially with no leaks, soft spots, & well-maintained - for around $6000.00, I'd say that was a very good deal. Good luck!

Ditto on the above post from Wannabes..sounds like a fair price for good condition...check the age on the tires! Try to include the hitching equipment also..
