Hi My2boys

Sunline used several different brands of converters over the years.

Do you know the make and model? That will help narrow down the choices to give a better answer. Reading a prior post I "think" you have a 2002 T267. Did I guess that right?

If so you can add that to your signature line and we can all see it then to help give better answers. If you need help on how to create a signature, let us know we can help there too.

Is yours a Centerion or American Enterprises converter? Some of the early years one did not have good fan control technology and run a lot.

Do you have any 12 volts DC things running in the camper at all when it does this? Even charging the battery? The newer ones respond to the heat coming off the heat sink which increases when more 12 volt draw is used in the converter and have variable speed fans. But the older ones where well, dumber. Pending the brand and make up it might just run all the time.

Hope this helps

John

John,

It is a centurion and i believe the model is either 3000 or CS 4500. When i turn the breaker on marked "general convenience" the fans automatically start. I believe the "general convenience" breaker controls the lighting and other things. As for creating a signature i am clueless.

Wayne,

In the white bar near the top of the screen on the left hand side is "USER CP". Click on that and then select "Edit Signature".

Hi Wayne

The Centurion then American Enterprises early years models fans run....and run... and run. Around early 2004 they came out with the CS6000XL and CS4500XL upgraded convertor. That unit has good fan control and the charging system is better. So the unit you have there is no a lot you can do with it. When the fan bearings go out and it starts to rattle.... you can change the fans, those they still do sell, or upgrade the entire convertor. Parts for the older units, except the fans, are limited. However American can sell an entire circuit board to drop in that changes the convertor to the newer style. Here is there web address. http://americandirect.org/ You can call, give them your model/serial number and they can help you.

Also you mentioned the lights being on the “General Convenience” breaker. The lights are 12 volts, and they go out when you shut off the convertor which is also on the “General Convenience” breaker, along with the many of the wall outlets and the fridge often.

Your signature, I Steve pointed you to that. If you need more help with the sig, let us know.

Hope this helps

John
