Padding the sofa bed
The sofa bed is great but not the best to sleep on. Has anyone found a pad that works to even things out for sleeping? Where can I get a bi-fold cover for my Atwood wedgewood stove?

Nickster,
When we are using the sofa for a bed we keep a foam egg-crate pad under the bed storage and use a fitted sheet to hold it together on the sofa. Not the best but does sleep a little better.

Nick,
You should be able to purchase the bi-fold cover at any RV dealer's parts department.
Here's one at GO-RV.com.
Part # 65193 - it's $72.39.
We use a cutting board to cover the range top that we picked up at Camping World for $36. Works just as good and was a lot cheaper.

Nick,
I've used a foam egg crate pad for years. It doesn't help with the comfort, but it does prevent me from rolling into the crack every two seconds. I've recently tried using an air mattress, but that doesn't work at all.
The best source for the stove covers is your nearest dealer. If they don't have one, they can most likely order you one.

WalMart or KMart for the foam egg crate. If you buy a double size you will probably need to cut a little off. Seems like the piece you cut off might be a good thing to stuff in the crack of the sofa, then lay the egg crate on top of that. Also, cutting board are really cheap at IKEA, and they have a huge selection of sizes.

Nick,
I didn't apply anything to the bottom of the cutting board. It came with that no-slide grip type matting on the bottom, as shown in the 2nd picture. Those are actually pictures off the Camping World web site, not pictures of ours. Though ours is identical.
The matting works great, doesn’t slide around at all while traveling.
The same no-slip matting is sold at Linen's N Things and, as Pam said, you probably could pick up a cutting board the same size and cheaper than what Camping World is selling them for. Cut and apply the no-slide matting to its bottom and you got the same thing, for less $.

Hutch,
You had me fooled! Here I thought you made the scene up with all those goodies and took the picture.

Walmart Memory Foam
We bought a memory foam matress layer at Walmarts. We love it so much we move it in the house when we're home. They had two thicknesses when we bought ours 2" and 4". We bought the thinner one. Cost #50-80. Fits between our regular sheets and the matress. I used to wake with hip stiffness and seems to eliminate that.

We bought a cutting board at Wal Marts for $15 and glued a rubberized shelf pad from the dollar store on the back with Elmers. Used the rest of the rubber shelf pad roll in the shelves. Looks and works the same.

Crate pad
We have a foam outlet here in town. We got egg crate and had them cut it to size. That was cheaper than buying from WallyWorld.
As to egg crate comfort even real thick, eventually the bones do feel the board if one doesn't have a mattress.
I am planning when finally we get any TT to fit the bed (even if it has a decent mattress) and the couch w/ temperpedic knock off from the same foam shop.
As to covering there are these pocket type sheets that can be used and then use a mattress pad on top of that.
Also there are sleeping bags that you can use pocket sheets on. I just wonder tho. how hot using a sleeping bag it would get just laying on it. I can say we used a sleeping bag w/ a regular sheet tucked over it. The sleeping bag was a double we unzipped so it fit a double mattess and on our queen sized later partially the bed.

We have an unused Full sized memory foam mattress topper (actually got the mattress) and as far as i can tell, this is the just about the same size as a twin sized duvet cover. So I have ordered one of these in a light and smooth cotton, will encase the mattress topper in the duvet cover, which will act as my "fitted" sheet, and every morning when I want to return my couch to it's couch like form, I will just remove the whole topper with the cover and stow it in the cabinet/bunk bed above. I did discover that the couch in the 1740 is bigger than a full sized bed, a bit smaller than a Queen, and really difficult to get a fitted sheet onto, so this is going to be my solution. The nice thing is that many duvet covers come with matching shams, as did mine, and I was able to get a color that will complement the couch upholstery anyhow in case I left the pillow out.

My mattress.
I have a tempur pedic mattress in mine & it sleeps very well. But you cannot fold it up & use it as a sofa. Plus it is very hard to get access to hot water heater & shutoffs.
