Owners manual.

Hi there,
I am looking at buying my mother in laws 2001 Solaris T267SR. Is there someplace I can download an owners manual in PDF form?

Thanks in advance
Chris

Welcome Chris!

The original owner's manual binder just consisted of individual appliance manuals in a binder, along with a few Sunline spec sheets and misc. info.

We have a number of these appliance manuals and documents in the files section of this site for you to download. Are you looking for anything in particular?

Just as much info as I can. The slide out wasn't working but figured out how to manually move it. Now I need to know where the lockout rods go and what they look like. I think I found the rods but need to know where they go.

Gotcha. Unfortunately the manual is quite vague in terms of specific things like that, it only tells you how to operate specific components and not the trailer package as a whole.

JohnB is the one to consult with on slide out motors. Hopefully he replies about this shortly. He can explain how to diagnose it in addition to figuring out what slide out motor you have.

The slide locks were only used for a couple years, so most people probably won't know what they are about. With having such a large slide, you probably have two of them, correct? Small slides only had one lock. There's no specific place to put them, just on top of the slide somewhere, one preferably toward each end so they are spaced apart. Make sure to put it between the wall and the inside lip of the slide where it's solid, then move the lever on the lock to extend it/put pressure on the lock. If it's too loose, adjust it by unscrewing one end as needed.

Also, make sure to remember to remove them before attempting to put the slide out, to avoid damage.

Since this is a bunkhouse and if you have kids around, there may be a lockout power switch for the slide motor inside one of the upper cabinets, out of reach from little hands. It's probably mounted on the ceiling inside there, near where the wall switch for the slideout is. With that switch tripped, the wall switch can't operate.

If that is tripped it won't operate at all? What happened was another trailer got back into slideout extended. It has remained extended for last three years. When I hit switch it moved about an inch in and out. When I disengaged the drive motor I could move it freely with a crescent wrench.

Hmm. The kill switch in the cabinet simply kills the power to the motor, so it won't do anything. This way kids can't push the wall switch and cause the room to move. It sounds like your wall switch is working as it should.

If the slide has been extended that long, it could be the seals are just stuck on top. I'm not sure I follow correctly about the trailer being hit, but was the slide itself hit? Something might be misaligned that's preventing it from moving correctly. Have you had anyone try to push the room in from the outside, while the switch is being held inside to retract?

There might be a manual override crank too, I'm not sure when that started. Somewhere on the motor there might be a rod sticking out with a small rod through the end, to create a T. You can put a slotted handle over that to turn it. Some Sunlines came with a handle with this end that you could put on and crank it like a scissor jack, if your battery died or the motor quit.

Yes slide out was hit, my bad. Pretty sure I have it lined back up. It was moving pretty easy after a little grease sprayed on gears. I couldn't get the motor to lock back up to the shaft. If we buy it, I will figure all that out. I was mostly wanting to know how to install the lock out rods. And an owners manual.

Hi Rhino417,

Did you get all the info you needed on your slide system? Sorry been out camping and just say your note.

As to a manual, we have a similar manual on the camper, the generic section in our files section. It is for a 2005 model camper but most would apply to your 2001. Our files section also has many of the manufacturer's cut sheets for the appliances.

See the top of the forum for the tab called FILES. Click it

Then go to the appropriate section and download as needed.

For the actual slide out manual, yours system may have the Barker slide drive or the Lippert. I think more the Barker slide system on a 2001. If you get the camper, take some pics of the slide drive system and post and we can help from there. We do not an exact record when Sunline switched from the Barker to the Lippert slide drive.

As to slide transit bars as they where officially called in the manuals there are 2 locations and the top may stay in longer and not bounce out going down the road. On my 2004 this is what Sunline gave me. A few pieces of conduit cut to length with rubber feet on the end.

The top location.

The side location. Falls out more often.

Your transit bars may be made different. Some of the earlier ones where made more beefy and elaborate.

Hope this helps

John

Yes, I have sort of tracked down that all the slide campers from model year 2004 and older had a form of transit bar used to help keep the top of the slide tight to the camper when towing.

In 2005 and beyond the transit bars where no longer provided by Sunline. It was reported they where no longer needed. But, don't let that statement think that all Sunlines no longer need them. Some history I have pieced together.

Sunline did use a few different brands of slide drive mechanisms on the larger slides. Meaning the larger couch and dinette (or table can chairs) slide. Somewhere in the very early year 2000's, Sunline changed from the Barker rack and pinion slide drive on the larger slides to the Lippert rack and pinion system. I know in some parts of the 2003 model year and beyond they switched to Lippert. It may be they phased in the Lippert system on certain models until all the floor plan designs were changed. So the change may have occurred over the 2002 to 2003 model years. If we get enough folks to have problems and report the ones that have we may be able to refine this better.

I called Lippert tech service on some slide system adjustments years ago and
about the transit bars. For their rack and pinion system they stated it will not back out going down the road the way the mechanism is made. However to check the the camper mfg on if the actual slide room needs the bars to keep it help tight as they only sell the slide movement mechanism.

And Sunline was out of business by then to ask myself. But I did recall one of our members asking them and it was on a 2005 camper and they stated they were no longer needed.

I know my 2004 slide and some of the 2003's with the Lippert are no different then the 2005 to 2007's the way the slide rooms and the rack and pinion system worked mechanically as far as staying closed to the camper. Lippert did change from the Venture slide motor system to their own motor around 2005 time frame but the ACME screw system was the same. It may be that Sunline discovered that with the onset of the Lippert system and being out in the market for a few years as well as other camper mfgs using them too, that the transit bars where no longer needed by field data telling them that. Thus the 2005 models and newer never had them.

That said we have no data to tell us that the Barker slide systems may not need them. To be safe, if your camper came with transit bars, use them.

It is sort of mixed results across the industry on other brands using them or not.

Hope this helps

John

Here is a pic of my bar, not sure if it is the same as Chris’s
It’s barely long enough to make contact, and on the slide end there is a piece of thin aluminum with no support behind it where it would brace.

That looks like the same slide lock that my '98 had, just longer.

Can you take a few pics with the slide out so we can see the motor, gearing and slide arms better. This looks like one of the Barker slide drives but cannot tell from the 1 pic. It is not one of the Lippert ones.

It's parked slide side within inches of my shed, if I get it out before winter I'll take a few.

Hi ronandmj,

Welcome!

If you look at post number 8 in this thread, it shows how to get to our files section. In that section look under "Sunline Owners Manuals" and look for one in the 1992 range and download a copy.

You also added the wording "Disco/Komfort" after the word Sunline. Komfort was a west coast very nice camper brand that was sold several year ago to one of the big RC companies. Komfort as a brand was not associated with Sunline. And I'm not sure where the Disco fits in. Did you see either of these words on your camper? We are assuming you have a Sunline brand camper. If you are not sure, post some pics of your camper and we can help identify if it is a Sunline.

Hope this helps

John
