We did the same thing - buy an RV and travel around the USA and Canada, our plan was three years. It has now turned into year 8.
We've been to every province of Canada and all the states but 1 in our RV. Once you start it's hard to stop. We see no end in sight. We have a 32' Bounder and a 15.5' Sunline, we just started using the Sunline, completing a 4000 mile trip across Labrador.
We have found that there has not been any where we can't go with the Bounder, we managed to fit in all national and state parks however it is at the upper end. With the trailer of course we can go and fit anywhere.
We thought it might be too small but have found it not to be. When you become full timers you live differently than when you're at home. We have learned we can live in anything, its each other that counts the most. Each vehicle requires a style of living. It's a mistake to think you're going to simply move from on to the other and live the same way.
It's sort of like going into the military or going off to college, you develop a lifestyle for the new environment and that is part of the fun. We actually worried a little about our ability to adapt to our Sunline, going from a walk around queen size bed, to a crawl over less than double size bed. Well crawling over can be fun after all.
I wish you well in your selection. We had never done RVing before we bought our Bounder. We simply parked it in the front yard and moved out of the house into it for three months and became semi-pro Rvers.
I wish we had discovered it earlier in life. I would have retired earlier.
Onje thing we discovered is how little we need. We just completed our 4000 mile/6 week trip and had two empty cabinets. It surprises us how little stuff one needs.
Best of luck,
