Mystery switch
Seven months after buying it, I'm ready to take my 1999 T-1950 on its honeymoon trip. Pretty sure I have everything figured out about it except for one thing (not counting how to avoid brain-dead moments).
Just to the left of the bath vanity, there's a lighted switch that appears to do nothing except light up when you switch it. Switches for the water pump and the water heater are located behind the kitchen sink, so I doubt it's associated with either of those devices.
Anyone know what it's supposed to do?

It should be for the light in the bathroom.

Right choo are; thank you!
Turns out that light has a ratty lamp socket, and I thought there was no power coming to it until I did some jiggling with your input. Never would have guessed you need an indicator switch with a ~3" gap at the top of the door so it's obvious whether the light is on.

This is a "classic"... That mystery lighted switch has left many Sunline camper folks scratching their heads? What does it do?
I'm not sure what model year it stopped being added. Or if it was unique to specific floor plans. It is a common question.
Maybe Sunline Fan can fill in the models and years it came and went.

I have a mystery switch on my 1983 T1550 next to the switch for my water pump as you enter the camper. What is the second switch for?

Most campers I'm familiar with (not that many) have two switches next to the door. One is for an exterior entry light, and the other switches a ceiling light inside near the doorway.
That ceiling light usually also has a switch built into it that you leave turned on to give precedence to the wall switch. That way, you can turn an interior light on as you enter the camper.

I have a 1987 T1550. The second switch is for the light in the assist handle to the left of the door.

The bathroom switch in our 2004 T1950 does not have the lighted switch.
2004 was a redesign year, so maybe that is when it stopped.

I always thought it was lighted so you could find it in the dark when everything else was dark.

Our 2001 Solaris T260 has the switch outside the bathroom door.

2000 T1950..ours only lights when fixture is on, so it's useless as a night time find the switch item. Wonder if that can be taken out and switch the wiring? Anyone have this same problem.

Yeah ours is the same..I think it was a period idea from the end of the century..80's to just past 2000... I believe I've seen the same in other brands.

It'd be very easy to bypass that switch and make it not do anything. Not sure why you see it as a "problem" per se--it's just illogical for it to be lighted.
After thinking about it for a bit, I can see some sense in having that switch. If you have youngsters with you who can't reach the ceiling to turn the light on, they can use it when going potty in the middle of the night.

I just assumed the lighted switch was to let you know the bathroom light was on. It’s usually pretty obvious. Maybe on a bright, sunny day you wouldn’t notice.

To add to the conversation, the lighted switch stopped on the last of the 2003 models. But, Sunline did provide a non lighted wall switch for the bath light on the 2004’s all the way until the end in 2007 models. There is also a non lighted switch when you walk in the camper from the main entry door.
It seems they followed the, walk into a dark room and provide a wall switch. With the exception of maybe the bedroom as that is a third room. The bedroom might be floor plan dependent. Ours having a pass through bath to the bedroom, the bedroom light was dead ahead of you walking into the bedroom. So you reached for the ceiling for that light.

Not sure about all the present day campers, but one of the most annoying things to me in my daughter’s 2017 Keystone Bullet is the ceiling light switch isn’t next to the entry door. It’s incorporated into the command center which is on the right after stepping into the camper. So there’s about 4 identical switches lined up. An electric awning switch, 2 switch’s for the two slide outs, and a switch for the ceiling light. Maybe if I camped in it regularly it would be second nature, but I need a flashlight to find that switch in the dark.
