Missing 1990 1550 water fill key

My new to me 1990 t-1550 did not come with any keys. But the compartments are unlocked but the fill hatch is on lockdown! Any info on the keys or obtaining one, or shall I tow it to the key shop?

Thanks, Nate

On all the newer campers, Key CH-751 fits all the outside cargo doors, the power cord door and the fresh water door. When I mean all, I mean every camper that shipped as a standard camper... These keys seat are not related to the entry door locks. I do not know how many years back this goes. A 1990 is not that old, it still might be. Maybe a member with a camper of that year or older knows their key number,

And key 751 is not unique to Sunline. An extremely large population of other brand campers use this same outside key. If you have a neighbor or a friend with a TT, odds are high they have a CH-751. If that fits, then it is an easy key replacement.

Most any RV dealer has CH-751 keys for sale. It would be cheaper to buy one and see if it fits then go to the lock smith. Odds are in your favor, it might be this simple.

Here they are on Amazon
Amazon.com: ch751 key

Hope this helps

John

And the entry looks have a number on them, that aligns with the door lock manufacture. Now just have to track down what door locks Sunline used in 1990.

There was discussion on this not to long ago.

Here is one brand Sunline used Products

Came from this post http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f6...all-15241.html

If you look at the cylinder numbers on the entry lock and call Fastec, they may be able to identity it or not.

The water fill key is not a 751. It is a thin key that when you look at it straight on it has kind-of-a 'S' pattern to it. You should be able to go to a good RV dealership and purchase another key. It is not a high security type key. I went and changed all of my storage compartment keys on my trailer to 751's, so now I have two keys; 1) an entrance door key that works the door handle and dead bolt, and 2) all of the storage compartments keys, including the water fill.

I did find out today that it has a different key for the water fill. The local tv dealer had the 751 key for the storage compartments. 1 down. 2 to go! Thanks for the help! I'm still learning all I can about this little awesome trailer!

Just a thought...on some of our older campers, my DH just used the thinner blade on his little pocket knife for the water fill lock......

My 1990 T-1550 did not have 751 locks in it. It had two different tumblers. That is why I changed all my storage door locks, including the water fill door to a 751's. My water storage door sticks a little so you may want to try and see if in reality it is already unlocked.

Oh ok, you're quite a ways away. I'm down near Ann Arbor. You could try going to an RV dealer, see if they have an old '80s unit in stock. Should use the same key if it has a similar hatch door. Slip them a 20 or something as a deposit for the key until you return it.

Here's what it should look like, the key on the right in both cases:

After going through all of this twice with a motor home and the Sunline with different keys for different compartments I replaced the entire lot with latches with no keys! I figured if some one want some thing they probably had a key any way being in a camp ground and all. Any thing of value stays locked in the inside closet with a cam lock.
