I agree with Dave. If every clearance light and tail light is out, but brakes and turns work, it points to the main connection, which I would start in the 7 wire plug first.
There are no fuses in the camper on the DOT lights. They are direct to the truck plug.
If the 7 wire plug does not cure it, then follow the 7 wire cable into the trailer or where ever the junction box is that the the heavy black cable splices into camper wiring.
On your 96 camper, they junction box might be inside the camper with a wood lid on it buried under a couch or in the bottom of a cabinet. Check the connections in that box.
Dielectric grease on the 7 wire plug helps on the corrosion once you get it cleaned up and working.
