Hi Steve,
Welcome to Sunline Owners Club!
Someone with a similar camper may be able to pass along what they have however the length on your small camper may be more driven by the ability to screw the mounts into the top side of the camper near the roof line. The anchor points need to be into solid wood to hold up the pull that the awning places on the camper. I'm assuming you have a gutter rail to hold the awning, don't know for sure on the older ones.
Between what sizes you can buy and where you can mount it may more drive the length.
If you look in our files section, tab up top on the forum screen, there is a 1988 brochure that lists the recommended awning size per floor plan. I can't seem to find a 88 Saturn T1550. The Saturn's start on page 10 and still have the older T-22A etc type model numbers. Sunline Fan our resident Sunline historian may know how they converted the model numbers but if you look up your floor plan you may be able to find it then see the awning size
Here is a link Sunline Coach Owner's Club - Sunline Owner's Files - 1998 Sunline Travel Trailer Brochure
Hope this helps.

I will try to contact my friend that had a 1982 1550 for many years. I believe he had a 12 foot awning, but I won't swear to that.

John, you've got the link for the 1998 brochure, not 1988... The 1550 never was converted to the newer Saturn line though. It became a Solaris and then disappeared after 1996. But, that doesn't solve the awning size issue.
The 1994 1550, which still has an LOA of 15'11", has a recommended awning size of 9'.

Well I guess my trailer had a awning on it before and it looks to be a 12 footer. Now just have to find a cheap one. Trailepr not really worth the 300+ for a.new one.

Be careful on your guesstimates. The mounting rail at the top of the trailer wall is usually longer than any awning that can actually be installed on that trailer.

Yeah I get you , I was only going by the holes left behind. It could only be a 10-11 feet.

The '91 T1550 that we just bought has a 9' pop-up (bag) awning and it takes up nearly all of the flat area on the roofline.
JC Whitney has them for <> $225

I'm going to rig up a tarp system, I don't want to keep dumping money into this trailer, I think ill upgrade to a larger camper next year.

I have the red-neck awning for my T-1550 - here's how... I take a 10x8 blue tarp and throw it over the roof so it hangs over the awning rail, then I use a window screen tool to press a length of rope into the rail, taking the tarp with it. Flip the tarp off the roof and presto!! It's stuck in the rail!! Tie the other ends to a pole or handy tree and you are done. Total cost about 20 bucks.

I know this is an old post, but may help someone else down the road...
we have a 1989 T1550 and the awning material itself is 9'3"
