Hot water tank.

Hi.
I hooked up my waterline to my sunline Solaris 2000 and the hot water tank didn't fill up.Is there a seperate valve i have to open to let water into the water tank.?

Make sure you don't have a bypass system. It will have extra pipes and valves right at the back of the heater. If they are in the off position the tank will not fill.

As Mainah said, check your water heater bypass valves. Some models have a separate valve on the bottom and then one on the top you have to flip both to bypass. And open both to allow water in and out of the heater.

Other models only have 1 valve at the bottom and a brass check valve at the top. In this case, you only flip the valve on the bottom.

"Most" bypass valve levers follow the flow direction. Meaning the lever horizontal and water flows in and out of the heater. Lever vertical, means water is bypassing the heater.
