Hey Everyone............Meet PigPen
I would like to introduce you all to our newest club member...........PigPen is his name...............
We picked him up today and I have to take this opportunity to thank Brad for finding him. He has been sitting under trees for several years and is covered with dirt, algae and lichen...............yes lichen
This is the stone cover over the front window.
The back
The other side
All three together
Frame number for Jon
The inside has been completely stripped and the walls have been covered with peg-board. I think the paneling is still under the peg-board. All cabinets and appliances have been removed as well. I did get one of the two cushions I can use to get new ones made and the table and support. This one will have to be fully custom.................too far gone to be put back to original
Just one last look before I wash him
Take Care..........................I'm going camping this weekend!!!!

H'mm I think someone is "into" collecting these things now....
Is this a "parts" camper to fix up the other one or is this an organized effort to save the Sun Spot from extinction???
Have fun fixing her up. Boy they are cute.....
John

Oh Marshall...
Just so you know, there is a limit on how many characters your sig can be.
Congrats on PigPen. I'm very interested to see what has remained behind the pegboard.
So any idea what the "No smoking in restrooms" sign is about?
That's an interesting cushion concept, since we've both not seen an original before. I can't wait to see a close up or see it at a M&G.
As for the lichen problem, I'd recommend taking the cover off and laying it on a table flat. Don't scrub too hard around the striping, but I think you'd be OK putting products on it. The colors are a little more resistant since they aren't printed like the logos. This way you won't use as many chemicals since they'd run down off the thing if it were still on the coach.
I'll bet a little Awesome will bring that front logo back and it'll be beautiful! It doesn't look like it's had much sun.
I know you were probably wondering the mileage differences between the stock height and the raised height, but I NEVER expected this would be the way you'd find out...this must look even more pathetic behind the F-250!
Good luck on the clean up process!
Jon
P.S. Since I'd say you could qualify as a dealer now, you should contact these folks for some dealer stickers to put on each of your coaches: http://www.reedcampersales.com/

A real short post as Sue is standing in the door waiting for me. We are going back to Bald Eagle for the weekend. We will be in site 66. Anyway..........
John, Yes is was SUPPOSED to be a parts trailer but Sue saw it pull in and said "we can't kill it.................that can be our living room" So it appears the new one will be our "living quarters" ond the original will be our "bed & kitchen. Why oh why do I do these things
Jon, I am trying very hard NOT to think about that sign
I know he used it as a parts trailer. He had it set up in a campground and sold parts out of it. He's a dealer and it was easier to do this than have to run all the way back to the shop for a commonly requested part. Thus Explaining the peg-board.
Coming Sue.............................almost done. I'm getting yelled at
Pam, I only had to drive to Chambersburg. Brad found the little guy sitting all the way in the back, all be itself. I had to take it home.
Thanks Brad for finding the little fella. You have given me much..............work Really I do appreciate it and it was a pleasure to deal with Joe.
Take care....................I'm going camping

Marshall & Sue,
Congrats on rescuing "PigPen" You'll have the little fella looking great in no time. As for the stone guard, I once purchased a 1966 Scotty with one as bad or worse. I found that one of the brass wire BBQ brushes worked great for getting into all those fine little hair lines in the fiberglass. Don't recall what cleaner(s) I used on it though. BUT, it did clean up.
By the way, I love the name
Kitty

Yikes!!! That's the dirtiest little trailer I've ever seen. I'm sure you'll give it a good loving home.
We're going camping in "Stinky" this Tuesday. I hope we get a spot by the water at Poole Knobs. We bought Stinky a 22G blue-boy... this should be interesting.

Now, they would look really sweet towing tandem down the hwy. Braking could be a little hairy though
Better yet would be a 5th wheel flatbed... you could put both Sunspots on back to back and access the two kitchens... some pipe framework for a big tarp... one campsite fee... lots of room for bikes and canoe... no mud...the possibilities are endless
Enjoy!
Henry

Marshall,
You're welcome! I figured it'd be a little project for you. Glad PigPen found a new home; was kind of sad to see it sitting there not being used for anything. It would be awesome to see them pulled in tandem together; or maybe another Jeep like Sue's and you could label the trailer plates 'His' & 'Hers'. :P
Looking forward to seeing the finished project when you're done!
-Brad

So, how many SunSpots does that make amongst us?
(just curious...)
Pigpen shares with mine that the camper was nearly completely gutted. So mine in a renovation, not a restoration.
But reno or resto, it's still a LOT of fun!

Wow the Sunnies are multiplying right before your very eyes. You had better seperate them before you run out of room.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I had already entertained the idea of bringing them to Buttonwood next year on my flatbed trailer. Sue called me an idiot
We just got back from camping and had to pick up Mom's car from the dealer. We ordered her a new one and now we have to go to WV and bring her up here to get it. It's her birthday present.................she NEEDS it.
Anyway, what I am trying to say, it may be a couple days till I can post any clean pictures of PigPen. I'll get them as soon as I can.................I'm getting anxious to see what's behind the pegboard.
Take Care and happy camping...........................
