Here are some in case you did not know
I know the word "flipping the axle" is used, just a heads up in case you did not know, you really do not flip it. You move the axle tube from having the spring pack on top of the spring to having the axle tube under the spring to raise the camper. More of an over/under conversion.
Make sure the front of the axle before the move is still the front after the move. Physically move the spring pack, not the axle. There is a front and back to the axle in many cases, changing that order can affect the toe at the wheel and wear tires faster.
When tightening the U bolts, tighten in an X pattern for more even tightening and bring them all up to the full torque spec in stages.
Be prepared to replace the nylon spring eye bushings. Odds are high they can be worn clean through. Check the shackle plates for excess wear at the spring bolts.
Put a wrench on the spring pin bolt head to prevent it from spinning while you take the nut off. There are serrations on the spring bolt shank in the hanger that can be stripped out trying to get a rusted spring pin nut off. Be prepared to replace the spring bolt if the nut gets all galled up. Often happens and the older and rustier they get the worse it is.
Oh and good luck! Let us know if you need help
John
