Lode is an unknown quantity at this point

Just be aware that all 2" balls are not equal. There are different shank size fittings(the width of the hole it's going to be seated in... 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", etc) and there's weight capacity differences with the difference metals and manufacturing process used. These limiting capacities should be printed on the top of the hitch ball. Once you know your weights and specs you should be able to get the right one on the 1st trip to the store.

Take care,
Jason

ball

It is my understanding that you should always heed the manufacturers recommended ball size and IT is stamped on the top of the coupler head surface..the two must be the same--then you will match the ball weight limit with the weight of your trailer. It is not a cut and dried thing as one poster put it--"2in receiver,2 inch ball"--one has nothing to do with the other. Two inch receiver is just that--2 inch opening to receive a 2 inch hitch bar--balls are sized according to your coupler---be assured if it is too small you will have a disaster on a bump!!!! We have needed anywhere from 1 7/8 to 2 5/16 depending on the camper we are towing...and it has always been stamped on the coupler!! Hope this helps... Janalee
