I guess I should explain the cutting board a bit better I jointed one edge of a 4" X 8' board then rip it in half so I then had all good flat edges cut them to basic size glued them up hand planed it mostly flat then sanded it to a novice flatness. Once I had that done I could just cut it to the size I needed on the table saw and routed the edge with a round over bit. A carpenter I am not I am defiantly a novice and learn a bit more every day it is a good thing because I all ways need kindling for the wood stove.

I could tell the cutting board was not a camper RV store bought one. I'm like you, I learn more every project.... and always have a "test" piece...

Where ever your wood supply is from, it sure looks like a good one. Back home in NY I was hooked up with a small mill. He would get me clear maple or oak, planed top and bottom and edged one side. Since I did not have to have exact lengths, he could pick and chose. Some 6 ft some 10 ft. some 6" wide all the way to some 13 to 14". All the best I have ever been able to get at a price better then no 1 pine at the lumber yard.

I have not yet found one of those places out here yet. Hope to some day in the near future.

The counter area looks good too. Boy those lights sure do "light"!

Wow, love the pressed tin panel backsplash! A black countertop will look great with it - definitely has that newer "Airstream" look, except I think that the tin paneling looks better.

Very nice! I love the aluminum old style back splash. I'm learning first hand how difficile these trailers can be to work on. I'm fixing up an old 1983 Fiver myself. The whole thing is just about being redone. Nice work on yours.

Thanks. I looked at metal tiles and could see that was not going to be any fun square is not in the vocabulary of coach builders. It's not for nothing they have plastic trim around the seams! The panels are 18X24 and have a 1/2" overlap so any irregularity will be hidden by the reverse cove mounding on the counter top. I was pleasantly surprised that the camper was not too bad as far as how they did the cabinets one edge did slope 3/8 of an inch but the others were fine. Another lesson learned when you do all this you need to level the camper no little bubbles on the side at least a 4’ level on the floor both directions it is the only reference you have when it comes to a rebuild. Once I had it level all the stuff inside was not bad I guess they do that at the factory when they build them. Minor set back but no big deal the covering for the counter top I chose is gloss finish and of course is special order and 2 weeks out and about $50 more than the matte finish.

I may be missing something, but where is the faucet for the sink? Awesome job. Where did you get the aluminum panels?

Well actually I have spent enough money all ready and was thinking about a bucket! Not really I was looking at them today still looking got two weeks before the Formica shows up. The panels are thermoplastic about $20 for an 18X24". Lowes,Home Depot and others, different colors and textures to chose from.

Well the fittings are still under the counter so if I take a couple of drawers out and just hook up the old fixture I could have water. Some how I don't think the management would approve she kind of likes running water must be from living in a house for the last 69 years!

It got all most to freezing today so I made a little progress. The TV is pinned in place easily removed with a seldom used microwave behind.

Got the laminate! It's all in and plumbing hooked up couldn't let a foot of snow slow me down.

Yeah I'm glad I spent the extra bucks for the gloss finish I figured the amount of time I spend camping is not great enough to drive me nuts keeping it clean. The faucet is pretty cool has a pull out head so you can rinse stuff off like the extra thing on kitchen stuff and it was less than a $100!

Well I was working on the bath waiting for the laminate. Nothing against flowers or pink ones at that but the pink counter top was pretty bad. I redid the lighting over the vanity the plastic fixture shining in my face was put off too so I fabricated a boxed in area above the vanity with the lights pointing down. No more pink flowers a quart of white paint took care of that, it is 40% brighter in there too. There are a couple more thing to do in the bath but it will have to wait awhile a electrical contractor friend has me doing computer infrastructure on one of his big projects got to pay for this stuff some how.

Boy, that looks good! Glossy countertops set it off and like the towel rack on the side of the counter, handy yet out of the way.
