Well I can tell you powered teak cleaner will work and so will Bar Keeper Friend. Big box hardware stores will have Bar Keepers Friend. Ware gloves it does have a mild acid (oxalic) it will not hurt paint wash it off good or it will leave a white power save what you don't use to clean the sink it will clean it like new.

I left an answer in the other thread but for the black stuff on the white molding around windows and doors I use Clorox Kitchen Cleanup with bleach. Spray it on, go have an iced coffee ... or whatever .. and come back in half an hour and see how much it changed. Sometimes I even use a small hand brush on it.

Awesome Orange Cleaner and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!! Both can be found at Dollar stores.

Work a 2' x 2' area by wetting it down, spray the Awesome on full strength, scrub with magic eraser, and rinse well.

Be careful rubbing too hard with anything, there isn't that much of a layer of paint on aluminum siding and you can rub it off if you get too aggressive.

My wife broke her ankle last Oct. on a camping trip and the trailer got put away with minimal prep last fall. Needless to say it was a mess when we started this spring. Me and the wife, and our 11 and 12 year olds cleaned our 28' w/slide in two afternoons.

We always used Awesome and paper towels. Didn't even wet the siding. Just squirt it on, and wipe off with a paper towel. Works like magic, and Awesome is $1 We did use a whole role of paper towels though.

More reps for Awesome and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Using Awesome and just a sponge/rag, etc. will do a good job removing most black streaks, but it won't get the smooth aluminum by the striping cleaned real good. The trailer itself may look good, but the that strip will still look a little dirty. The Magic Eraser will take it off with little/no effort.

Look at blackjacktirerepair.com and go to the cleaner section--their EasyClean works great and will not harm aluminum.

Awesome worked great...but ended up ruining our graphics where the black streaks were. We have fiberglass sides though. We won't ever use it again on the Sunny. I would rather keep the roof clean, and in between full washings, I take a bucket out and wash where the streaks would start. A really good wax helps too.

As for the molding around the doors, it does turn a nasty shade of yellow so we use a little bleach water ( like Gene mentioned above Clorox Clean Up works well) spray it down, wait a few min and wash and rinse.

For the awning, especailly under I spray bleach water mixed with dawn in a garden sprayer, give a light scrub.... roll up... wait 10 minutes and unroll and hose down.

Since we bought our truck camper, we waxed well and only use dawn to wash. No problems yet.

Hmm, I'm surprised. Did it dry on there?

I rarely use Awesome straight and dry on the Sunline, because I usually end up getting it wet somehow when washing off another area. I usually have it mixed with something else for the roof, so it's watered down.

I do use straight Awesome on a lot of other things though, it works great for cleaning wheels and grease!

No, we only do one section at a time so no, it wouldn't have a chance to dry. We don't even wash the Sunny in full sun either. Nothing but mild detergent and 303 on the roof though. The places the graphics are cracked and discolored is only where we used awesome. I mean if no one else has had this problem..that's great but we will never use it again on our campers. It did take the streaks off though and it works well on other items outside and inside the house.

We were thinking if the graphics/decals were defective ....then this would have happened to other parts also. Who knows. Eventually we are going to have them all taken off and air brushed on anyways.

Try RELIABLE, it does the job. Available at most rv and marine stores. Plain white bottle with yellow label.

How about Black Streak Remover? I've used it on boats and trailers, works great. Made by Starbrite.

We use simple green max straight out of the bottle. Spray on small sections and wipe clean with a towel. We do not wet the sides first. If we can't find the simple green max, we use the regular simple green. This is the best product we found to remove the streaks.

my father uses black streak remover on a regular basis on his fleetwood wilderness, good product, but i warned him years ago if he kept it up at this rate he would regret it, and now, about 4-5 years later, his decals are all faded and dull looking, while the rest of the camper looks mint, i wash and wax mine every spring, after cleaning the roof of course, and i maintain it all year with 303 aerospace protectant, it works on everything, body, tires, trim, even on my boat and inside my truck! great stuff, and will removed mild streaks with a little rubbing. my 1979 loves it, the finish looks fantastic.

Black streaks are a somewhat greasy residue. All removers simply spread them around unless they are used in the shade and immediately washed off. Unfortunately, anything that removes black streaks also removes wax. I use Awesome only in a spring cleanup. Wax does not prevent black streaks, but for a couple of weeks they are relatively easy to scrub off with a dry or barely damp terry towel. After that, the best way to remove black streaks during the camping season is with wax because it works about as well as black streak remover and puts fresh wax exactly where it's needed. Waxed vehicles should only be washed with automotive washes, not dish detergent or any other household product.

We had a long thread several years ago; IIRC the general conclusion was to wax Krystal Kote as well. My experience is with fiberglass. YMMV.

Correct Henry, I wax mine too. Well, I haven't in a little while, need to, but it certainly helps.
