Adding a Bunk Over the Dinette

OK, so I have a t1700 with cabinets over the dinette. However my father in law has a t1850 with a bunk/cabinet. It's a nice feature I wish I had in mine. Are you able "create" a bunk for above the dinette? I guess anything is possible, but did anyone ever do this before?

Do you have a bunk over the couch? I have a T1700 and when a person purchased it new you could have either just a plain cabinet over the couch or a bunk. If you have a plain cabinet, I would guess it would be easier to turn that area into a bunk because the studs in the wall are in the correct place etc. Just guessing though.

Mine had a bunk it's now a fixed cabinet they are only good for 100# max. I took the center section out of mine and use it for storage.

For my T-1700, I would want one over the couch. Sorry about that.

To be honest, I'm really on the hunt for a T-2053 with a bunk over the dinette (technically same location as the couch in my current trailer). Every one I find has the overhead cabinets. The 100 lb weight limit doesn't bother me. I would imagine converting it wouldn't be that hard, but just wanted to see if anyone else has done it.
