accumulator tank - do you have one?

on our last trailer we added a accumulator tank - help to reduce the pulsing and the pump ran a bit quieter --- but when we got this one, i let the accumulator go with it --- wish i hadn't.

we have a 2553 and the water pump is under the sofa - along with the furnace, cord storage - so there is not a lot of room, but i think that i can get one in.

has anyone installed one? was it easy (i didn't install it on the last trailer)?

just curous - have a good one

With us usually Boondocking, the pulsating of the pump drives me nuts and I cant believe how loud it is from the outside. Sometimes I'm actually imbarrassed if we're camped beside someone and have to use the water late at night.

I saw this item in the Camping World Catalog ( What I like to Call Porn for us RVer's) and wondered how well it works? We're currently in the Middle part of the US and there arent any CW's till we get back up towards the Mid-West, but as soon as we do, we plan on having one of these installed.

I'll make sure to post a write up on it as soon as we have it in. Glad to know I wasnt the only one bothered by this noise. I'd love to hear from someone who actually has one and if its worth the cost?

Thanks
Pat

thanks for the reply --- we had an accummulator tank on our last trailer and well it was great --- yes it did quiet down the pulsating pump --- our last trailer was a rockwood roo and it also smooths out the water flow.

another benefit we had before --- is that it allows you to use some water (not a lot - the surflow tank (camping world) is small) and not run the pump at all - like the toilet, wash hands.

but with the sunline - i don't know if its the same pump or not, but it is noisy - i hate it - can i say that again - i HATE it!

anyway, the last trailer had the pump installed as part of the purchase and quite frankly, i forgot about it with this one - just call me stupid.

anyway, i would like to have another one -- even if its one that i buy from the home depot, TSC or someplace else --- they are larger and well would be better i think - providing the pressure is not too high.

anayway, i ramble sorry
thanks for the information

Accumulator Tank

I went to Home Depot and bought their smallest accumulator tank, two gallons I think. To install it you just cut into a cold water line, it can be anywhere on the output side of the pump. Works great.
