battery or electric

OK, got the junction box open, found a 30amp fuse that was blown - replaced it, hooked up the battery. Fridge, BR fan, interior lights (though they seem dim) all operating. The outlets do not work at all, checked GFI and they are all reset. Looks like we are going to NAPA for the resetting circuit breaker unless you have a better way to go.

Your outlets are 110 volts only and will only be hot if you are plugged into shore power or a generator.

The 30 amp fuse in the box is only for the truck charging protection. While it can feed the camper with power from the truck, it is not connected with the camper battery.

The auto resetting circuit breaker protects the battery from the camper using power or camper charging the battery. Agree, change the auto resetting breaker first and go from there.

OH and congratulations for getting in the box... Hope yours was easier then mine.

Mack is correct, the wall outlets only run on 120 VAC shore power, not battery power.

I will be away from a internet signal, camping, YEH so you may not hear from me in a bit. Good luck

John

PS if the breaker does not do it, a thought, inside the camper in the America Enterprises power convertor on the top are 2, green fuses. Both 30 amp. These are the other end of the big power red wire from the battery inside the camper. Pull them out, see if any corrosion and plug back in. If they are creating some resistance, then all inside DC things will be affected.

If you are still having issues, confrim this is your power converter and the folks here on the forum can help better

The 2 green fuses on top feed the 12 volt fuse bus bar below. 1 fuse for each side and you can see one side is not used.
Battery power comes in the top on the big red wire, then goes a little black 10 awg jumper to each 30 amp blade fuse to power up the bus bar.

The big yellow wire on the bottom is from the converter powering up the bus.

Amazing, I think we/I got it. Prior to your message I found the electric brake unattached. Attached it. Battery 13.7 and the refridg. ran for around 12hrs. on battery until it turned off. The battery showed 6.7 when we took it off. Found the refridg. rocker switch on, turned it off and with the electric brake attached, I hope we have found the problem. The battery after being on 10 hrs. shows 13.6 (started at 13.7), I am feeling great and leaving for camping with some peace of mind after doing everything everyone suggested. I have accumulated many reference copies and so much info from you and everyone. Thanks so very much. Cindy

The fridge on 12 volts will kill your battery in pretty short order if you can not plug in run the fridge on gas when you are parked. 6.7 volt is a very dead battery they won't last long being drawn down that much.

Hi mainah, she meant the heat strip between the freezer and the fridge compartment to burn off condensation that forms on the face of the fridge inside. Not the heating element on the burner in the back. (This year/model fridge does not have a 12 volt stack element anyway. Only LP gas and 120 VAC. )

I have no idea why Dometic put these heat strip things on a camper, but the ~ 2004 and 2005 models I know they have them. The 06 and 07 might too. My T2499 had one and the dealer tipped me off to make sure it is Off when we bought it new.

4 brakes coils burning non stop with the breakaway cable being pulled didn't hep the cause either. We all missed that one. Remembered something new...
