1990 T205 Furnace?
How do I start the furnace on my 1990 T205 Sunline Starray? The stove works, and the fridge lights. Is the furnace gas or electric? I can't access any of the downloadable files on this site so i thought I'd post the question here.
Thanks,
-DK

On my old 1989 Sunline 19', I had to light a pilot light inside the furnace access door. The furnace heats with propane. The blower is 12v. It will run on battery or shoreline power.

Hi Dan,
I do not know about your furnace, if you know a model of the furnace we can look it up. It is LP gas that we know.
Now to the files, tell us what is not working? As a member you should be able to down load. There is however a time limit between down loads. If you try too fast to do multiples, it will tell you to slow down, but wait a little and try again.
Let us know and we can try and help

I pulled the outside panel that is attached with two screws. There was a list of instructions. There is an on/off switch under the thermostat (inside). It said to turn it off for five minutes, then turn it on when it is set at a temperature high enough to kick on. So, I guess there is no manual pilot light. I followed the stated routine and the furnace never kicks on. I'll get the model number when it quits raining.
Regarding downloads, I can't access them on my tablet or on my computer.
Thanks for your responses. I'll follow up as I learn more.

Hi Dan,
I have reported your file access problem to Admin to see if they can help.
You you mean you cannot access them, do you mean you cannot get this link to fire off?
The files section itself
Sunline Coach Owner's Club - Sunline Owner's Files
Or this one. The brochure on your 1990 camper
Sunline Coach Owner's Club - Sunline Owner's Files - 1990 Sunline
Trying to figure out if you cannot get to those areas or once there, if you press the down load button that the files will not come down. This will help Admin better understand the issue.
What operating system is your computer and what web browser are you using?
Thanks
John

OK a model and serial number will help but it does sound like electronic ignition.
Do you have a volt meter or a 12 volt test light? A thing to find out is power getting to the unit?
Does the blower run just not fire the burner or you get nothing, not even a click?
The newer ones have a circuit breaker on the furnace itself. You can see it here just above the motor right about at the M of Atwood Mobile sticker. A white button. It is is popped out? pressing it in will reset it.
Yours may be an older vintage then this and not in the same place but something to check. Also check all the fuses in your fuse box by the power converter. These are the first simple checks. From here it may get more in-depth.
Are you electrically friendly? The furnace is all 12 volt DC. If you can work on automotive electrical with confidence and have a volt/ohm meter, this can go a longer way to trouble shooting. If not let us know what you are comfortable with and we can try and suggest to what ever skill level you have or feel comfortable with.
Hope this helps
John

Thanks for the additional details. The furnace is a hydroflame 8520. It has a similar reset button as the one in your photo. I don't have my 12 volt tester with me so I may have to wait until I get home.

Also, there is no response at all, no click, no fan etc.

Problem solved, I think. It seems the relay is bad. We jumped it and the fan started. Off to Wallymart...

Everything works now. We replaced the relay and the furnace worked, but the thermostat wasn't working. I took the thermostat cover off and found a stink bug had wedged itself between the contacts. I carefully removed the bug and the thermostat worked again.

GREAT!!!!
The relay has gone bad before on others unit. The stink bug is a new one
Now we can add this to our reported odd things list...LOL
We had a lizard get into a roof top AC control board and short it out and now a stink bug in the thermostat of furnace... Generally it is wasp/mud daubers, mice, and squirrels causing havoc.
Glad you got it working.
John

I guess you can say that was a real stinker!
Sorry I just couldn't resist!
Glad it worked out and in rather fast time also. That's also always nice .
