1984 Sunline 16' Power Cord

My power cord only has 2 prongs on it .Should I change it to 3 if the ground wire is there.Looks like the factory setup.

Yes! The 30 amp RV plugs are available and must be wired correctly. From the back of the plug the black wire is on the left the white wire is on the right the green wire is at the top. It is a 120 volt 30 amp plug the only thing it will plug into is a RV 30 outlet. The replacement may have a copper colored terminal and a silver one the copper one is black the silver is white.Don't be tempted to install a standard plug buy the proper one and use an adapter. If it is the proper wire it will be a #10 wire pretty thick stuff. With out that 3rd wire you have a risk of a "hot" camper frame not a good thing.

Thanks! Are you talking about the slanted prongs plug? It is a 10 gauge cord. Would it have come from the factory with the 2 prong ? Or you think someone replaced it? Thanks,Rocky

JohnB is on a distinguished road
Here are some pic's to show what Mainah is referring too. This is a Camco replacement plug.

This is what the campground 30amp 120V RV receptacle looks like. The black round one in the middle (50 amp 220V on the left, 20 amp 120 on the right)

Hope this helps

John

No it would not have come from the factory with two lugs. JohnB's pictures are exactly what you need. It is fairly common for the plugs to be replaced lot's of people drive off and forget to unplug.
