Gary was talking with Chuck McNair, the original owner of our 311, and Chuck told Gary that Sunline only made 15 5th wheels from 2002 thru 2005. So, Gary & I got to thinking, and realized that 7 of those 5th wheel owners are Sunline club members. There is 1 (F-311)for sale in NY, 2 (F-304SR, F-345SR) for sale in Maine, and the '05 F293SR in Thurmont, MD, and the one residing out west in Palm Springs, CA.

Kitty

I NEED this weather to warm up so Gary & I can get a chance to go out one weekend and FINALLY get to use the thing. Camp driveway is just NOT cutting it.

Wow, only 15 units! That sounds about right, given the absolute lack of coaches that come up on searches for sale nationwide. I was figuring it was maybe just a few dozen.

I guess we are a pretty rare breed!

Gary,

I believe the link you posted (Detroit Craigslist) is for Jeff's (ihsolutions) fifth wheel.

It would be pretty cool to find all 15 and have them join SOC

I knew it was Jeff's F-293SR... I was joking about what he said, about the lack of fivers in searches...

We know of 4, that are on dealer's lots and for sale.. Maybe we just need four SOC members to upgrade to fivers!!

That would only leave the one in Palm Springs, CA needing to join SOC.

My first thought was that you were joking. I've got to learn to trust my first instincts (LOL).

15 - (7 members + 4 on lots + 1 in CA) = 3 whereabouts unknown.

Attention all units: Be on the lookout for...

Gary, you're too funny! I just posted that yesterday. The dealer locally who sells Heartland Big country (our likely Sunline replacement) keeps calling wanting to do a deal. Which is always a reminder, to go repost the Craigslist.

There is a *very* limited market for used Sunline 5th wheels. If I don't get what I want for mine, I'll just keep it. There's no sense giving it away just to upgrade to a different floor plan. The more we keep and use it, the more attached I get to it, and the less likely I'll be to sell it anyway.

Regarding the missing three, I would suspect it's possible a couple are on permanent lots somewhere, and maybe one or two got wrecked/damaged by weather, etc.

We still have yet, to even sleep in our F-311 yet, but I'm already very attached to it! There are several things that need to be "Done" to it and that'll add to the attachment..

I'm not regretting the fact, that we couldn't get the 293.. It does suit my liking more, but it wasn't to be.. I'm very happy with what we got.

Jeff, with your wide open floor plan, let the kids pop up a pup tent inside, and you'd still have plenty of move around room. With Gary's kids being 12 & 15, the reality of "just how long" would they "FIT" in the bunks, daughter didn't want to sleep in bunk already, so with purchasing the 311 we ended up doing what we should have done in the first place, purchased a rig for "US", as the kids will not always be rv'ing with us. Sofabed for one, and air mattress (tossed up on our bed during the day) for the other. Leaves us tons of room during awake hours. The 5'er is a whopping 3 inches shorter overall than the T-320, BUT we sure have a lot more open area. I can't wait 'til we get a chance to go camping. It's even been to nasty to do camp driveway. Hurry up spring, we did make one reservation today, and plans for two more.
