2003 F-304 Trailer Info.

Jon,
I thought you might like the info on my trailer to add to your database.

Production # (last four of VIN) - 8010
VIN Number 1LC3S2P253L308010
Frame # (two digit # written on tongue or tongue area, in white marker) -
Gone, nothing written on the pin box
Model Name (Que, etc.) - F-304SR Solaris
Floor Plan (T-5.4 RE, etc.) - LE
Model Year (2007, etc.) - 2003
Décor Blue
Interior Wood (Cherry, or Maple option in Solaris) - Oak
Manufacture Date March, 2002
RVIA # (S ???????) - 7242319
Order Date (mm/dd/yyyy) - 11/??/2001
Due Date (mm/dd/yyyy) - ???
Binder Printed (mm/dd/yyyy), ???
QCC Inspection (mm/dd/yyyy), (Name) - 3/12/2002 by J. McKenney
Order ID # (??????????????) - ???
Sales Order # (??????) - ???
Work Order # (??????) - ???
Run # (??????) - 3018
Last Known Location Wellsville, PA
Last Known Owner HappyCampers (The Newcomers)
Original Selling Dealer, Call of the Wild

The orig. Production number was slated as 8148, but was changed to 8010. Some of the information was lost when they punched the holes for the sheets to fit into the binder. Also most of the info on the options sheet wasn't even filled in. The dealer looks to be Cal??? Wild. I'm pretty sure it was shipped to the New England States. I bought it in NH and the dealer told me that it was purchased at another local dealer. The unit is titled as a 2003 (I checked numerous times) even though it was built in early 2002.

Production # (last four of VIN) - 8010
VIN Number 1LC352P253L308010 (BTW, the 1LC352 should be 1LC3S2, just in case you ever write it somewhere)
Frame # (two digit # written on tongue or tongue area, in white marker) -
Gone, nothing written on the tongue (Not that it matters, but the frame # should have been on the pin box)
Model Name (Que, etc.) - F-304SR
Floor Plan (T-5.4 RE, etc.) - LE (How did you get this?)
Model Year (2007, etc.) - 2003
Décor Blue (Sky Blue should be the official name, if it has the '03 interior)
Interior Wood (Cherry, or Maple option in Solaris) - Oak (Sorry, I was basing it on what '07's would have had.)
Manufacture Date Not Sure (This is on the exterior sticker with VIN on left side of coach, probably near landing gear switch- probably "March, 2002")
RVIA # (S ???????) - 7242319
Order Date (mm/dd/yyyy) - 11/??/2001 (How did you get this without the sheet with all the other numbers on it?)Due Date (mm/dd/yyyy) - ???

What documentation do you have saying the original VIN was 8148? I wonder if the frame is an '02 and they didn't build on it, so they changed the VIN to an '03 VIN when they finally built on it. I'll have to take a look at the M&G. BTW, when you said "options sheet", do you mean the delivery receipt?

2003 F-304 trailer info.

Jon and Lowell; There is an RV dealer in Oxford, Maine. The name of the
dealer is "Call of the Wild" That may be where Lowell's F-304 came from originally.

Jon,
I got the manufacture date off of the sticker and I also updated my original post. Most of the other information including the LE floorplan and the order date I got from a pink order sheet. The sheet is a Sunline document and has the original serial number as 8148, but the Sunline Quality Control Certification sheet has the serial number that matches my trailer. Maybe they moved the production date up so they could make an earlier delivery of the coach. PRS, thanks for the information on the dealer in ME, I'm sure that is the original selling dealer. I bought it from Trafford's RV in Center Conway, NH. They were previously located in Fryeburg, ME. They told me that it was sold at a local RV dealer that carried the Sunline line. I just might contact them to see if they can give me any other information on my trailer.

I just took a look at the web page for Call of the Wild RV. They have a 2004 F-304SR for sale right now. They also have a 2006 T-1950, and 1999 a T-2553.

Lowell,

I think I know what happened. So, in November of 2001, the original selling dealer (OSD- we'll assume Call of the Wild) would have called up Sunline to order this coach. The person at Sunline then recorded all of this info on the order sheet you see and filed it into the system for production. At that time, they assign the production #'s, so since it was ordered during the 2002 model year, it was slated to be an '02. At this point, there could have been three things happening: either the dealer you think was in California closed for business or didn't want the coach, Call of the Wild didn't need the coach right away, or Call of the Wild agreed to buy the coach after the other dealer didn't take it.

Either way, the production of the coach was postponed until things slowed down, and they started the 2003 model year early, so the coach became a 2003 coach. I have a feeling that Denver was still producing 2002's well into March, and maybe April, but since production was slow, Leola moved onto 2003's to encourage people to order the new models.

Jon,
I didn't think the coach was built for a dealer in CA. When I wrote Ca??? of the Wild, I meant that I couldn't read all of the line. They punched the binder holes through that part. Just a little misunderstanding, I should have wrote that differently. I knew the dealer that sold it new was in New England, just couldn't make out all of the name. I'm still not sure about the VIN thing, but your guess may be right. I'm not sure when they started marketing the new fivers, maybe they debuted as 2003 models. I remember hearing that they only made them in 2003, 2004, and early 2005 (only by request at this point), but I may be mistaken. I going to send Call of the Wild RV an E-mail asking them for any other information they may be able to give me.

Yep, I did misunderstand you. Sorry about that. I thought you said the dealer was in California, and you were surprised that it went all the way out there.

The Fivers came out again in 2002 and like you said, lasted through 2005 as special orders only. The one brochure Sarah hasn't listed is the '02 FW, so if you'd like to see it, I'd be glad to e-mail it to you.

Inside my Owners Booklet I have a mint 2002 Fifth Wheel brochure. Another question to the mystery of my trailer being a 2003. It's really neat having the brochure with all of the floor plans. I'd really like to find a F-345SR. I like the triple slide and the rear living room.

Lowell,

At least it's a little closer than Center Conway, NH...

http://www.rvtrader.com/rvdetail106295.htm

I've seen it on here for some time. I know the pictures are missing a couch in the slide, but I think I remember it saying somewhere that he had the couch, but he took it out for one reason or another.

I agree, this is my favorite Sunline FW model. We have some friends with an '03 Jayco FW of the same exact floorplan.

Jon,
Isn't that an awesome coach. I spotted it a little while back and called to my wife, "I'm trading in the camper, come look at our next Sunline." I can't type her reply here, but I'm sure you get the idea. She did look at it and she did like it......but I'm not going to do anything right now. I keep trading up, and if I'm not careful I'll run out of room to park. Anyway I'm almost positive I'd never be able to get that huge thing in my driveway, but 37 feet of Sunline is quite impressive though. The 32 foot F-304 is hard enough to get in, with the long wheelbase on my truck. Is the F-345SR the biggest Sunline ever produced? If not is has to be close.

Eventually......in the distant future when it comes time to replace the F-304 we will proabably go with a KZ built coach. Have you ever looked at any KZ coaches? The are about the only ones we have looked at (I love to go to RV shows) that come close to the Sunline quality and are still in the same price stratosphere. We really looked at the KZ Durango line at a local RV show earlier this month, really nice. A friend of mine has a 37 foot KZ Escalade that is totally unbelieveable. It books for about $100K or a little more depending when you buy. solid cherry through the entire coach. Also good friends of ours just traded their 2007 Dutchman (groan) for a KZ Spree. It's their Lite, entry level fifth wheel, but still has a "Sunline Like" build quality. I was impressed, which doesn't come easily. They are going to pick it up Saturday.

WOW that is a nice camper. The cabinets are really nice. I also like that the cielings where not miles high like some brands.

But we have the TT allmost version of that rear living area fiver. Less 2 slides....And are happy campers with no inkling to change. I just barely figured out how to swing 32 foot of TT in my yard. At 37 feet, need a new yard first....

No, the T-360SR (Solaris) / T-36SS (Saturn) came in at just over 37'. I don't recall the exact spec right now, but the VIN's had a length of 37 listed there.
