Sunline Que vs 15’Saturn
We are debating an 07 Que vs an ‘86 Saturn. There is about a $3000 price difference in the newer unit. The Que interior is very nice, but apparently only sleeps 2 in a Queen. Wondering if you Que owners found that you could tuck in a little grandchild or two in this unit, or if it really is only for a couple. Looks like the galley is lovely but eats up alot of space. The Saturn has another bunk, but main bed is only 48” wide. Both are out of town, near relatives, so we havent actually been in either yet & have to travel to have a look.
thanks for the input. MCM

The QUE really is only for 2. The only space for our dog was on the floor next to the bed there's about 8" of space before the door side of the camper. There are no overhead bunks. The QUE had some quirks. The most concerning was the fender wells tended to leak causing the floor to get soggy. We looked at a used QUE before we bought our current Lance, and it looked great inside, but the floor was soft and the siding on the back all wrinkled. Be sure to check it carefully. The queen size bed is really comfortable. So, if the kids are old enough for a tent, a good condition QUE would be nice. If you want the ability to bring along a grandchild that's young enough that they need to sleep inside with you, I think you're better off with the older unit if it's in good shape. Be aware a 100 pound weight limit on those fold down bunks.

Pam, thanks for the info, sounds like a Que too small, & other things you pointed out make the Saturn more appealing. How do you like your Lance? Cecile & Mike

We love the Lance. The layout and clever storage remind me of a Sunline. We always say that Sunline was the MASTER of the floorplan.

They do look nice online. We have only found 1 single axle sunline ‘86 1550, 4 hrs away. No luck finding one closer, & ‘86 certainly has some years on it. Its in good shape, have you found other sl owners have had good luck with the older ones? I love the windows and simplicity of the older ones, but don’t want any headaches bc of age. Thanks. C

Yes, there have been a few old ones that people have found. If in good condition they usually sell fast.

Actually I think the '80s 1550s have aged better than the Ques have. Sure, both can have water damage at this point, so it's all about condition of what you find. The big advantage of the Que is the full bathroom, if that's something that you find more value in over the tiny wet bath.

Thanks, good to know. Think we have ruled out the Que, not concerned re the larger bath, so very hopeful to see this 1550- looks promising.
