Stair operation has us stumped

Hello! We are new Que owners and cannot get the stair to fold up and lock in place when we are moving the trailer. Is there a trick to this? My husband has been using a bungee cord, but I can't remove it. THANKS!

Your step should look like the photo ....you need to kinda pick up the front of the step horizontally and push it to the rear. So the step actually stores under the trailer.....you can see arms on our step....your hubby may have to grease them, I know Leo does occasionally.

Oh and by the way - welcome to the forum!!!!!

Peregrine....

You may have fallen victim to a particular problem that existed on our Que SE. The factory placed the step assembly a bit too near to the frame....and our step couldn't go quite far enough back (about 3/16" short) to drop into lock position.

We were able to grind away the rear surface of the locking slot on each side so that it locked without going that last missing bit inward.
