Que Trivia
I just discovered something interesting about the Que RE's. I know most of you probably didn't notice, but the early Que RE's had the license plate bracket mounted to the right of the door, and on the later ones it got moved to left of the door, like the SE version.
I'm estimating the changeover happened somewhere around unit # 700 (VIN # 5700), so the production date would have been in February or March of 2006.
I only have a few RE's with VIN's to confirm that, along with some pics of an early unidentified RE. I'll post those pics for comparison later on.
Here's a random Que (thanks to Google) that is a later one, with the bracket on the left:

Here's the updates to the last post:
CORRECTION: The new VIN's seem to go as high as 5886.
The early Que RE (# 5886):
The later Que RE (# 6221):
According to my records, # 5840 seems to be the odd duck and has a left mounted one. Otherwise, the soonest is # 6215. I may have others within that range, but I don't have any rear pics of those units.

Just checked ours. We're 7040 and it's on the left.
Something else they changed is the door and axel location. If you look in the brochure that change caused the TV cabinet to move from the left of the door to the right. (when standing inside) I wonder...do you know if they actually built any with the door in the other location, or was that just a prototype?

Hi Pam,
This only applies to the RE models. Since the SE has the storage door on the back, the only place for the bracket to go is the left side.
That's interesting about the TV cabinet, I hadn't caught that before. I wonder if that was a computer generated image? If not, it was probably the prototype. I looked through all the pics I have and none of the SE's had the cabinet like that. However, the earliest SE I have pics for is # 5836, and I only saved the VIN sticker and entry door logo pics at the time. I also looked through the unidentified unit pics and see nothing like that one pic. Also, I think I have a big glossy blown up version of that view from the brochure, so I'll look for it sometime and hopefully scan it.

Jon, I think Pam is talking about the trash can holder/counter top... That is located just to the rear of the door.

Hi Pam,
Unfortunately, I don't know the breakdown of SE's vs. RE's. I'm guessing there were more SE's made because that is clearly what I have more of in my collection, but it may change if I knew more about those early ones (5000 range).

Pam,
I've got Excel counting all the Que's now. Identified, the breakdown is 64.44% SE and 35.56% RE. However, when the unidentified coaches are added to the mix, the ratio changes to 62.92% SE and 37.08 RE. Of all coaches I have recorded now, the SE's represent about 24.35% of total year production. Those Que Numbers are the result of 89 Que's recorded, which calculates into 51.74% of all Que's built. As we've seen in elections, the actual breakdown percentages could really change from what they are now.
I hope this info was helpful, even though you no longer are Que owners.

I have recently found another piece of interesting Que trivia. Que's built prior to coach # 6200 had rails to hold the battery box, so the box sat parallel to the front wall of the coach and it stuck up, sort of obstructing the LP access. After # 6200, they changed the mounting system to a dropped tray between the tongue rails, so the battery box sat perpendicular to the front wall.
I am quite confident that this change happened on # 6200 as I have 6197 with rails and # 6203 with the tray.
I also have found some Que's had woodgrain panels on the refer doors, but some had just a plain gray panel. However, I've yet to find any correlation between those and the actual production.
One last thing, I found these pics. Anyone have this custom pillow. If not, I'm thinking someone hand made this:
I don't have a number for it, but it is early with the high battery:

Very interesting stuff Jon. So, you're saying that for the 2007 model year almost 25% of what Sunline built was QUEs? If I interpret that correctly, no wonder there were always so many sitting on the lot! They are an amazing little unit, but the original MSRP was so high that I'm surprised they built that many the first year.

Based on the units I have now, that is correct. I realize there may be one or two that are the same coach, but the pictures are completely different so I can't tell. That shouldn't change the figures too much though.

Reading your posts, I take it you are tracking Que's? If that is correct, My Que RE has VIN #5808. It was sold to me as a 2007 model, looking through the quality control yellow sheets, the final inspection was signed off 1/24/06. Dispatched 1/30/06. I assume the dealer IGL in Milwaukee signed for it 1/31/06. Hope this info helps you track-um down.
Carl

All Sunlines? I think I recall the original sales sheet tucked inside the manual for our 83 T1550. If you are interested I can probably dig it up....

Hi Opie,
Yes, I'd be interested in it if you can get it. There are a number of those items that won't be applicable to your coach though, which are basically everything Order Date to WO #. I also don't know about the manufacture date because that should be on a sticker on the front left corner of the coach. Those older (pre-silver) stickers usually didn't survive the test of time very well. I also don't know what year they started displaying all that info on the sticker. I suspect it was '81 when they switched over to the new VIN format, but I don't have any documentation.
