Leaking QUE faucet
We were supposed to go camping this weekend but cancelled due to rain...thank goodness, because in the driveway shakedown we discovered a leak under the kitchen sink. It's not the drain pipe, but seems to be a function of the wierd little faucet that's in there - which makes me think someone else should have had this problem as well. If so, how did you fix it?

Pam....
On our shakedown, we had some seepage from the vertical seam between the faucet handle and the moveable faucet itself. As all the leakage (which occurred only when the faucet was turned on) ran into the sink and down the drain (not under it), I didn't tear into it.
Based on your post, the seepage must be running down through the sink mount to the underside of the fixture, then leaking onto things underneath.
Although my Que is in storage 10 miles away and I won't get a chance to work on it for weeks, I do have a suggestion for your short-term use.
If you look up at the underside of the sink where the faucet is attached, you should be able to see if a gasket is present to seal the faucet against the sink. If there is a gasket and you can tighten the faucet against the gasket, you may be able to force whatever leakage you get to simply leak into the sink...as with mine.
I will look through my owner's documentation and try to research that weird european-design faucet to see if I can find any useful information. If I do find anything ....I'll share it here at once.

Thanks Frank. (and April for the PM) Yes ours leaks UNDER the sink. DH thinks it is a function of an additional triangular shaped hole on the interior of the mechanism. It's located in the cylinder right next to the mixer. It doesn't seem like that hole should be there, so he plugged it with epoxy and a screw. He will also replace all the O rings and tighten up on the gaskets when he puts it back together. He says if it still leaks that it will now leak in the same fashion as yours - which is fine with me. We'll see. We have nothing to lose, as our faucet leaks too badly to use it without putting a bucket under the sink ! I found warrantee papers from every appliance manufacturer except the stove / sink. Very disappointing.

Pam....
Sharon & I have gone completely through our big Sunline ringbinder of information & warranties provided with the Que. There are a few "blind spots" with no information or warranty included. One is obviously the sink/stove assembly (we DO have the Empire warranty for the bathroom sink & shower faucets, and we DO have an instruction book for the CRAMER stove portion of the assembly)...and the other I've noted so far is the gaggle of halogen lights in the ceiling.
Sorry! However.....I think I remember a Dometic emblem on the plate glass cover. I'll try researching Dometic products to see if that assembly (with gas burners, sink, etc) is produced by a Dometic subsidiary. If so, that'll lead to another information source.

THe faucet passed the leak test. DH thinks the triangular hole was there to prevent the faucet from breaking if it had water in it and started to freeze. Since he plugged that hole he created a couple of pinholes in an area that would relieve any pressure but the leak would go into the sink. What a project. It took most of yesterday and half of today to diagnose it, fix it and get everything hooked up again. Now for the electrical test....

Thanks for the solution Pam, I'm going to check ours for a similar hole.
