Just purchased the Que RE

Hi Everyone - My hushand and I just purchased a 2007 Sunline Que RE. We will be picking it up from the RV dealer on Saturday. This is our first TT, as we've been tenting it for the last two years. We have a lot to learn and this forum has been a big help so far.

My first question is about the bed size. I've read that the RE bed measures 75" X 81". This is quite a bit wider than a standard queen size and I was hoping to find sheets to fit. Any suggestions?

I'm also alittle concerned about the sink-faucet leaking issues that I've read about, but we'll try to test it out before our first camping trip at the end of this month.

Towing shouldn't be a problem since we've towed large bike trailers to Florida before without any problems and we specifically bought our new SUV for the purpose of towing.

I'm sure I'll have many other questions once we get the TT home, so be sure to look for my name in this forum.

Welcome Jazzybee and congratulations on your new Sunline Que.

I would suggest that you test out the faucet thoroughly at the dealer before you take delivery. Have the dealer put water in the fresh water tank and run the kitchen faucet. And while the faucet is running, check for leaks. If you find any, have the dealer fix them before you take delivery.

Expect to take a few hours on a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspections). The dealer should walk you through the complete trailer and demonstrate how all the features and appliances work. If the dealer doesn’t do that, their not doing their job.

There are a lot of PDI checklists on the web. If you would like one, send me a PM with your email address and I’ll send you the one I have.

Wrt the sheets question, sorry I can’t help there, that’s the DW department. But it sounds like other Que owners use sleeping bags, which makes it easier when breaking down the bed and putting it back up as a table.

Enjoy your new Sunline Que and have a great camping season.

Hutch

You should absolutely have the dealer test that kitchen faucet before you take delivery. The ONLY reason DH could fix it is because he's very handy. Ours leaked UNDER the sink into the cabinet, so make sure you check there. Your standard queen sheets may fit because the mattress in the QUE isn't as thick as a a residential mattress. So, all that extra fabric that is in the corners of the sheets that makes them fit the new thicker mattresses is available. Otherwise you can buy a set of king sheets. We use a double sleeping bag that has a set of sheets that zip out for washing. It makes it ALOT easier than making up a bed every night. I have washed the sheets and they remained soft and pill free so far. I got the bag on amazon.com for $50, and the brand is SwissGear. Camping World sells something similar but it's much more expensive. We just LOVE our QUEtSE

Jazzybee,

Welcome to the club. You are now the proud owners of one of the best "COACHES" made. You won't find a more loyal group of RVowners than those of us with Sunlines. If you have any questins, please ask, as we have a few "Que" owners onboard that should be able to help you. As previously said, make sure your dealer does a thorough PDI with youm and double-check that faucet

Kitty

Thanks All...for the advice and the warm welcome. We will insist that the water faucet situation is checked out at our demonstration this weekend, and I can't foresee any problems as they have been great to deal with so far.

Our first trip out is scheduled for June 29th. I can't wait and it's coming quick.

PS: I feel silly asking but, what does PDI stand for

Pre-Delivery Inspection (and it's not silly) It took us over a year of having our new Sunline to find out that lifting the toilet foot pedal fills the toilet with water. My DW found that one out - not sure how. We had been pushing lightly on the pedal up until then to put extra water in the toilet.

So nothing is silly or stupid among friends!

Had an additional thought on the tendency of some of our fancy Que kitchen faucets to leak......(mine occasionally drips--but into the sink).

Perhaps that German-engineered faucet is a bit sensitive to water pressure? Anyway, from here on out I'm going to always use my brass water pressure regulator.

Hmmm....that's an idea. Lucky for me, my husband works in plumbing and heating, so I bet he has a handy little water pressure regulator.

Hutch,

We had that same problem with the MH when we got it! We first tried filling it with the little sprayer hose, but that only worked with the pedal down. I don't remember who or how we found that the pedal picked up, but it was sure a relief to find it worked.
