Hi Joe

I do not have a Que, but if you can give us the axle size, brand and model I can point you to the bearings and seals. The yellow sheet in your manual may list it.

And I "think" your Que is torsion axles (aka, rubber ride)

Most likley you have a (3,600#) 3,500 axle but I do not want to chance it, so asking first. (On edit) Typo, should be 3,500# axle,
John

Hi John,
The yellow sheet says: 3,500 Kober Axle. serial#2c6003
If that helps ?
Yes it is a rubber torsion axle.
Thanks,

Steve Collins is an unknown quantity at this point
In the back of the AL-KO manual, there is a complete parts list for 7", 10", & 12" hub/drum assemblies. Bearings and grease seals are included.

http://www.al-kousa.com/pdf/alkobrochure.pdf

AL-KO's website ( http://www.al-kousa.com/ ) also has a complete parts catalog ( http://www.al-kousa.com/pdf/partscat.pdf ) and more.

From what I read, it looks like the bearings, races, and seals will fit AL-KO, Dexter, and Hayes axles.

I am betting you have the 10" x 2 1/4" brakes on a 3,500# torsion axle. Here is the spec sheet/parts list for them: http://www.al-kousa.com/pdf/2000_35B.pdf

Steve

I agree and thanks that was whre I was heading too.

I will only add, use the double seal part 31. The single lip seals are pretty poor.

Plus didn't the Que have EZ Lube hubs anyway which you have to use the double seal or else.

A 3500# alxe generally uses a 10 x 2 1/4 brake.

John

PS. Joe if you need help sorting out the part numbers, let us know. You can buy all those parts at the local auto parts store. And they are not listed as Alko parts. Alko does not make the bearings or seals. Or we can point to where to get them on line.

A good (independant) auto parts store or trailer supply house will be able to cross reference the numbers and give you what you need.

Generally, the best bet is to pull the seal/race/bearing from one side, clean them up and take them in. There are numbers stamped on each that make for very easy cross-referencing.

Joe

See if this helps. Like Frank said, the bearing cup and cone numbers are industry standard. It is one thing they did right in the industry…. Different manufactures still refer back to the “bearing” size number.

I happen to have a set out in the shed. Dexter 3500# axles use the same thing. In this case of these parts, Dexter and Alko are the same and neither make them, they buy them

inner bearing cone L68149 Napa bearing set BR17 There SKU 853110588
inner bearing cup L68111

outer bearing cup L44610 Napa bearing set BR4 There SKU 853110587
outer bearing cone L44649

grease seal dbl lip spring(ul) Ask for, Double lip seal, 10-19 2.565” OD x 1.719” shaft x 1/2” wide. If they have Red line parts it is there PN RG06-050

Looks like this

If you do not have a NAPA, Just take those bearing and seal info to Car Quest, Advance, Tractor Supply Company, etc. They actually sell the entire rebuild kit bearings and are cheaper then the individual components. You can look for the exact bearing numbers parts they give you. The bearings should line. The L may or may not be on it.

Good luck

John

John,
Thanks for the NAPA #s & info.

So the inner & outer seals are the same on the ULTRULUBE hubs also ?...........
Edit= No I guess not the ID's look different.

There is only 1 seal, on the inside next to the brakes per wheel. On the outside there is a grease cap with a rubber insert in it you can pop out to stick the grease gun in. That grease cap (presse fit) can many times be removed and put back on. Only if you crush it taking it off do you need to put a new one on.

See this cut away. There are no brakes on this one but the bearings and grease seal is the same.

If I still have confused you let me know, can explain more no problem.

Thanks John..........
What made me think there were inner & outer seals was page 36 of the AL-KO owners manual......http://www.al-kousa.com/pdf/alkobrochure.pdf
#14 on the diagram = grease seal Dbl lip spring (UL) #363276 which goes with #15 grease cup & #16 rubber plug which is on my ULTRULUBE hub.

If I thought about this last week I would have taken one drum off,now the trailer is out in the heavy rain we have been getting & will still have till late Wed.

The weather, it broke here today from the soggy wet and we are suppose to have a good stretch for the next few days. So some some better weather is heading your direction.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
