Steve completed this insulation project, and we've been camping in hot weather with the mod done. It is a complete success. All he did was bend a little Celotex and wedge it up along the underside of the kitchen counter in a manner that funnels the heat out the venting. I don't think he even glued it down. I don't have a picture, but if someone really really needs one, let me know. The counter barely gets warm now, even in 90 outdoor temps.

OK here goes. First, it looks like Celotex but it's actually a piece of soft insulated ducting scrap. The kind your house A/C runs through. It's more pliable than celotex so he could bend it into place. It's just wedged in. I'm not sure what the pieces of duct tape are for.
If you take the vent cover off the back of the QUE, this is the left side...

and this is the right...
