TT 2753

Has anyone made any modifications to this particular model?

The only thing that I have done so far is add a 19 in. flat screen (HDTV) on the outside wall in the bedroom area beside the TV shelf. Works great. I bought the mount at BJs and the TV is easily removed for traveling. I place it on the bed under the pillows.

I am puzzled as to adding a flat screen in or around the OH TV cabinet in the dining area.

We're readying the Tweety for full timing and have done alot of mods.
Took out the false panel with the clock and added a door.

Put a door on the useless TV cabinet. We now put the TV on the flip up table, but may run wires to put it on top of the pantry. (Photo to come)

flipped the axles for better ground clearance

added a pantry. It's a top wall cabinet from Lowes that we just sat on the floor and used the flip TV table from the bedroom as the top surface. We have a dog so we added the screen protector...and grab bar.

added a million coat hooks. Also, there is a swing arm TV mount in this corner now, but I don't have a picture of it.

Here are some other mods that we don't have pics of....

We also added a spring rod to the inside of the shower, just to hang extra wet stuff on like swim suits. (stole this idea from Hutch)
Steve made me a double sink cover that provides extra counter space.

Hey Pam..Tweety is looking good--great idea adding those doors and the pantry!
Now for the TV placement--I still think it would be "good-er" in the front corner behind the chair. The chair can be moved out to use it for viewing and it can be seen from the dinette. A 19 in LCD would fit either on a narrow shelf there or a swing arm. Then TV accessories would be placed in the overhead..there are TV connections right there by the little table. In our old motorhome, I placed a lovely mirror on the wall behind the dinette bench and then I could watch TV news while eating!(Of course, DH had the pleasure of watching right straight on!!) Would work in yours too and the mirror adds a sort of spacious look!
By the way,now that we have replaced the sofa seat with the twin mattress (sooo comfy now) and have taken out the swivel chair for more living space--using a fold up lawn chair at night--so now we think we will stick with our 2653...We moved our BR TV shelf to the wall under the little LR window for our laptop use for our extended Florida stays..just fits nice next to the door and folds down. I still love your bedroom but I NEED my wardrobe...!! Ain't it fun!!!! Jan

Tweety,

Great job! Love the extra cabinet doors. Where did you get the hardware to match what was already on the Sunline?

I do remember someone on the Forum talking about getting doors made and where. Was it you? They match perfectly.

Still can't figure out where to install a flat screen TV. OHTV cab. is needed for the satellite receiver so I now had a thought of hanging it below that cabinet. I'll have to think more about that as it is a possibility. Wires could be run down to the TV from the OH cab.

I had the skids removed this year and swivel wheels installed to keep the trailer from dragging in my drive. So far so good.

Hi Rich,
We got the nobs at Lowes. They were slightly smaller so I put those on the tiny bedroom drawers, and put the originals on the cabinets. The one on the pantry also came from Lowes and is the right size, but it was one of those they had as a $1 special and they didn't have them any more.

Yes, it was me that ordered the doors from the guy in Kentucky. He doesn't stain them. I had Sherwin Williams to do a stain match. It isn't perfect, but to the noncritical eye it's fine. The finish is ~5 coats of a water base poly, and the sheen is an exact match.

We have the skid wheels too. That was our first attempt to solve the low slung trailer issue. We ended up getting axle flip after going around some nasty switchbacks in SW Virginia.

I was thinking about the TV right under the TV cabinet too, with a swing arm that allows it to move forward. If you figure out the whole TV thing I definitely want to see pictures! It seems like every floorplan is a compromise and so far the TV location is the only thing I don't like about this plan, and we are determined to figure something out.

My 2975 has the same living room & dining area/TV cabinet, arrangement as your 2753, I know cause I almost bought a 2973.

I have often thought about mounting a Flat screen TV under the factory TV cabinet as well. My nephew also suggested a swivel wall mount, on the wall right next to the Dinnet seat as you enter to camper on the left. It of course would be about 6 ft closer to the living area, probably you could get away with a smaller TV. with a swivel mount one could swivel the TV for viewing while eating and swivel back for the living area.

As of now I have done nothing, just set a 13in TV on a small table on the dinnet seat while camping not for travel.

If you come up with an under the TV cabinet solution I would really like to see it.

I am camping now in the York/Gettysburg area (Outdoor World) and today drove to Sam's in York. I saw a wall mount just like I used in the bedroom ($60). It is a bracket that screws into a stud. The TV bracket part slides into that mount so it is easily removed. I am really pleased with that mount in the bedroom. The mount is adjustable with an arm to move it and can tilt for viewing. That bedroom mount I bought at BJs in Lancaster in the spring.

After I got back to the camper I checked for a stud under the OH TV cab to screw the wall mount into and found none where I could attach that bracket. It seems like a solid piece of material behind the wall from the ceiling to about 8 inches under the cabinet and then nothing. I suppose since the shower is behind that wall, there was no need to stud it out???? Likewise on the outside wall under that cabinet, again there is no stud so it can not be located there either.

So now I need to check the base of the 19" Sharp after I get home to see if there is a possible way to hang it under the OH TV cab. I left the base in the box as I did not need it to hang on the wall mount.

I still believe that the best place is under that cabinet as in that cabinet, I have a cable for cable/antenna reception and a cable for satellite reception plus the cabinet can hold the satellite receiver.

So more thinking is needed or suggestions.

On my camper, on the wall behind the dinnet seat, that the TV cabinet attaches to, there is a support of some kind that comes down the wall inline with the TV cabinet edge. In other words were the TV cabinet attaches to that wall. Although that's not the center location for the TV.

I think somewhere, I saw a ceiling mount for an LCD TV, I'll have to, do some checking. i thought about renforcing the bottom of the TV cabinet and putting a ceiling mount under the cabinet.

Last night I did a search for "Undercabinet TV Mount" and came up with a possibility. I wrote to them for suggestions but have not heard back yet.
http://www.tvmountshop.com/cart/product_comparison.cfm

There is no support behind the wall between the seat of the booth and the shower behind it. The only support in that wall is where the cabinet is fastened. So it seems like the undercabinet mount is the way to go.

Rich, Did you ever mount your TV, and if so, how and where?

Tweety,

I am still thinking. In loading the trailer for our last trip today, I took out our 19" TV that we have in the kitchen which is exactly like the one in the picture (I have two of them) and it does fit into the cabinet. But I didn't like it there. I believe that I will check with a carpenter on a possibility for a flat screen at the built in TV cabinet.

But here is a picture of my success in the bedroom. It easily unhooks for traveling. I place it on the bed under the pillows when traveling. I do have to have the antenna power turned on to receive the HD picture in the bedroom.

If I ever get it figured out, I'll post it.

Did you make it smaller? I set it at 500. I see that when posted it had IMG after the picture.

Rich,
I didn't resize it, I just copied your link that starts with "http" and ends with "jpg" and used it with the IMG codes at the front and back of your link behind jpg of your link
Hope I'm not confusing you. I can do it better than I can explain it.

Hi Rich

Your picture link does not work. Meaning we cannot see it. Some how you are copying in way to much code. This is what Kitty was describing.

Let us know if you need help sorting it out. Only need from the Http all the way to the end of .jpg and then use the same start and end img commands.

Good luck

John

Then something is totally wrong, and I'll have to work on it. But the image does show up when I "Preview" before "Submit", and after I "Submit" the image is there, too.

Now does this come through? Last trip of the season.
